Rhein-Galerie_Germany Architecture LED solution: „Big Whale and small fishes“ for atmospheric mall lighting A highlight at the shopping centre Rhein-Galerie is the ‘Whale’, a striking luminaire structure, arranged above a translucent stretch film, the 750 RGB LED elements make possible a large number of dynamic lighting scenes which are integrated into the overall lighting control system. Along the peripheral areas, this impressive system of luminaires is equipped with 16 gimble-mounted luminaires ensuring that there is additional accent lighting. Splashing about in the water all around this whale are ‘little fish‘, those suspended luminaires which are equipped with three 70-watt reflector lamps.
They appear to be coloured since their white/translucent skin is backlit by blue pulsating LED elements. Besides the decorative effect, the complete structure supports the ambient lighting of the mall and at the same time serves to ensure the effective illumination of the basement.

UBS_Switzerland Architecture LED solution: LED luminaires for comfortable lighting of bank areas The ceilings in the storm lobby as well as in the waiting area for the consultant rooms of the UBS bank are optically brightened by glare-free LED downlight modules with printed acrylic block glass substrate, and thus highlighted. In the 24h zone glare-free LED downlight modules with rotationally symmetric darklight reflectors provide a consistent light distribution. The prestigious wall behind the service desk is even illuminated by asymmetric wallwashers. In the consulting area the light level is increased. The service desk is highlighted by a double downlight module with a decorative acrylic glass element which is set into a linear lighting system. Special reflectors form a rectangular light image onto the desk. The sideboards in the clients meeting room are accentuated by LED dowlight modules. These provide sidelight to the walls and light to the furniture.

Dodenhof_Germany Fashion LED solution: Brilliantly coloured light disc as foyer attraction Luminous glass architecture characterises the foyer of the fashion house dodenhof in Kaltenkirchen. Glazed over three floors, as high as the building, the foyer opens the way into the new fashion world. The high design quality in the architecture of the building also set the standard for the design of the luminous ceiling. Its shape shows a flat conical stump with an outer diameter of 13 metres. The inner circle equipped with intense spotlights has a diameter of 4 metres. At the inner luminaire segment the height is 1.20 metres. The lighting disc consists of 15 segments. A translucent film was stretched out within the special frame profiles of each segment. The segmenting avoids joining
seams and permits the effect of an area giving off homogeneous light. Within the translucent film special prepared RGB LED modules provide an attractive image with changing colours.

Esprit light wave_ Sweden Fashion LED solution: LED light wave for attracting people to the third floor The Esprit store in Stockholm is located on the third floor of a department store with its own three-part escalator access. The objective was to design an eye-catcher and make the customers aware of the entrance situation and to encourage them to travel up the escalator. The solution is a dynamic LED lighting setting in a wave shape with an attracting and navigating effect: the light appeals to the passers-by visually and points the way. The light wave has nine programmed coloured light scenes in a continuous sequence.
Technical data: • Light system used: LED light wave as a special solution • The light wave consists of a total of 180 LED strips, distributed over three control groups, equipped with 75,600 light dots (1,260 LED modules with 60 LED chips each) • Dynamic lighting sequence by means of the individual controllability of the LEDs Each LED strip is programmable with regard to the colour rendition and the luminous Intensity. The running direction and the running speed of the light can also be individually controlled • The LED housing made of translucent plexiglass protrudes out of the aluminium profile of the lighting strip, as a result of which at the side an additional beam is released and the lighting effect is itensified • The COB (chip-on-board) technology from VosslohSchwabe Optoelectronic permits homogeneous light distribution and deep colours

McDonald´s_France Food Illumination of McDonald´s restaurant with efficient LED solutions The lighting concept for the new McDonald´s restaurant at the airport Paris-Orly focuses on LED luminaires. The LED downlights Maxx TCO are placed above the tables providing a glare-free and pleasant light to the visitors. The special reflector enables an rectangular beam onto the tables, so a maximum of light is directed to where it´s needed. Depending on daylight the luminaires can easily be switched on and off. The LED downlight Maxx MCL with wide flood reflector is used for illuminating vertical surfaces as well as in the restrooms. There the LED luminaires are only switched on when people are in. Finally the small downlights Maxx MHL illuminate the kitchen screen because products as chocolate balls that are placed below are sensitive to heat.
