Location The symposium will be held at “Monasterium PoortAckere” on the 25th of February. This 13th century building which was known as the house of beguines, has been upgraded through a private initiative and serves as a hotel and congress centre. Plane At Brussels Airport: Follow the directions towards Railway platforms located at level -1. Use the machines or contact the service agents to buy a ticket to station Gent Sint-Pieters. There are these following options from the airport to Gent Sint Pieters: 1. Direct fast train from airport: Departs at hh:59, direction towards, Blankenberge or Brugge. Alight at Gent Sint-Pieters. This journey takes approx. less than an hour. Check at the counter or the information screens for updates on the trains.

2. In-direct fast train with change at Brussels-midi: Take the train in the direction De Panne (hh:26) or Mons (hh:30) and alight at Brussels-Midi, take the IC direction Blankenberge or Oostende. Depending on the connections it would take approx. one hour. 3. Direct slow train from airport: Departs at hh:26, direction towards, De Panne. Alight at Gent Sint-Pieters. This journey takes approx. one hour and 20 minutes. Choose this option if you have time at hand and want to enjoy the scenic beauty of Belgium ☺. Train Take tickets to final destination Gent Sint-Pieters.

From Gent Sint-Pieters train station to Monasterium PoortAckere In front of the train station Gent Sint-Pieters, you can take tram 1 to the city centre (direction: Korenmarkt/Wondelgem/Evergem) and get off at the tram stop 'Korte Meer'. The hotel/symposium centre is 2 minutes’ walk. You can always buy a tram ticket with help of the ticket machine at the tram platform. You can walk from the railway station Gent-Sint-Pieters in +/- 30 minutes.

From Gent Sint-Pieters train station to Technologiepark By Bus: • • • • • • •

Take bus (De Lijn) line 70, 71 or 72, direction Zwijnaarde. Exit bus at stop "Bollebergen". Cross the roundabout and enter the Site Technologiepark. Follow blue road signs "C" (at roundabout, go 3/4 left). To building 914: follow blue road sign C3. To building 918: follow blue road sign C2. More information on Public transport Gent

Exit the Gent Sint-Pieters station from platform number 12, towards Voskenslaan. Look for a shuttle bus as shown below. These mini buses run between 07:30 to 09:30 and 16:30 and 18:30 (every 15 minutes). Please tell the driver you are travelling for “Ghent University”. Get down at the fourth bus stop inside the Technologie park (in front of the huge white and blue building).
