GBSS Alumni-NY Says Thank You! Dear Members & Friends, Saturday evening, The Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) Alumni Association of st New York Inc., held a successful 21 Annual Scholarship Awards & Dinner Dance at the Antuns in Queens, New York, where the association awarded World & Olympic 400m Champion Kirani James, 2012 NCAA Decathlon Champion Kurt Felix and Former Principal of the GBSS Victor Ashby. By all accounts, the event was a success. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our committed and hard-working Executive Members, Event Committee and volunteers who lent their time, expertise, relationships and resources to the event. Without everyone’s dedicated assistance – particularly that of our esteemed Executive Committee – this event would not have been possible, and we are truly grateful for everything you each contributed to making this a wonderful evening and a successful event! I would like to extend a special thank you to Lt. Nimrod Ollivierre, who orchestrated the planning and execution of the event, and to the rest of the Team – Jacintha, Nadine, Arthur and Brian - for their role. Similarly, thank you to our honourees – Kirani James, Kurt Felix and Victor Ashby; special awardee Joseph Henry – and our scholarship awardees – Jeremy Cox, Jonathan Jeremiah and Serene Drakes.
