RELIES ON NORMAL OPERATIONS Co-operation between the authorities and volunteers must be seamless Lifeboat Institution is intended to serve people in distress at rescue and assist boaters in other dangerous situations at sea and on inland waters and to support the emergency services and to promote the safety on the water.

Lifeboat Institution main task is to ensure the operating conditions of the SRU:s it runs, and to equip and train the volunteer crews.
