• First refinery built in 1921 (AGWI), ‘new’ Esso refinery opened 1951 • 3,200 acre site, 1,250 acres developed • In excess of 300 storage tanks on the Fawley site in varying sizes • Largest tanks hold 100,000 tonnes of crude. (733,000 barrels)
