Volt combines the efficiency of an electric car with the longrange capabilities of a traditional gasoline vehicle. The Volt has an EPA-estimated gas-free driving range of 38 miles from electricity stored in its 16-kWh lithium-ion battery (actual range varies with conditions). When the electric range of 38 miles has been reached and the Volt’s battery runs low, an onboard back-up gas generator seamlessly engages to produce electricity that will extend Volt’s driving range for another 344 miles, making for a total combined driving range of 380 miles on a full charge and a full tank of gas2. AWESOME DRIVING EXPERIENCE Whether powered by the battery or by the quiet generator, the driving experience is the same — exceptional. Volt is quiet, quick off the line and very smooth, with a premium feel and a 100-mph top-end speed. UNPRECEDENTED DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY With two 7-inch diagonal LCD screens, OnStar®3 standard for 3 years, smartphone apps4, a unique owner site, a monthly Volt diagnostic email and specialized Volt Customer Advisors when away from the vehicle, Volt provides an ownership experience unlike any other. It gives you the freedom to take long trips or drive without plugging in to recharge. 1 EPA estimate. Its 273 lb.-ft. of torque is available instantly and accelerates zero-to-60 in less than nine seconds with a top speed of up to 100 mph. Volt is also surprisingly quiet. In fact, the electric propulsion was so quiet that normal wind and road noise were more noticeable. So, engineers worked to make the Volt interior even quieter by isolating sounds and sealing them out. And with its lower center of gravity and tight-handling suspension, Volt provides confident control and exciting response at any speed.

Chevrolet understands that when you change your vehicle, you want keep your lifestyle. That’s why Chevy engineers been pushing the limits of fuel efficiency for years - so you can be confident your vehicle is getting the most out of every drop of fuel. Fuel-Efficiency by Design

Creating a Better Tomorrow

Creating a fuel-efficient vehicle requires a complete approach. To achieve this, engineers have developed technologies to improve fuel economy without sacrificing safety, performance or styling. Notable Chevy Volt fuel-efficiency technologies include:

At Chevrolet, we are proud of the progress we’ve made in making our vehicles and manufacturing facilities more efficient, increasing the use of recyclable materials and reducing our carbon footprint. We proudly share, and cordially invite you to explore further, some of our current sustainability efforts for creating a better tomorrow.

»» Aerodynamic Design – Sleek, inspired designs look great, while maximizing air flow to help improve fuel economy and reduce wind noise »» Lightweight, High-Strength Steel – Used for many frame and “under-theskin” components; the result is a lighter vehicle that achieves better fuel economy and ride and handling, without sacrificing crashworthiness »» Regenerative Braking – Captures some of the energy normally lost during braking or coasting, converting it to usable electricity that’s stored in the battery »» Electric Power Steering Assist – Eliminates the traditional hydraulic power steering pump and its related belts and hoses for reduced weight; eliminating the need to power the steering pump decreases engine load which improves fuel efficiency; simpler design helps reduce maintenance costs

»» Introducing Ecologic – At Chevrolet, we believe we have a responsibility to consistently strive to reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles and our manufacturing facilities. We also believe that actions speak louder than words … READ ARTICLE »» The Chevrolet Tree Project – We believe in the power of trees. Volt Leadership

The Volt gives buyers the choice of gas-free electric operation for approximately 38 miles (based on EPA estimates), and the ability to continue driving with the help of a gas-powered onboard generator. Chevrolet recently surveyed Volt owners and found they fill up, on average, once a month, travelling more than 900 miles between gas station visits1. Volt owners have traveled more than 20 million miles, with roughly two-thirds of those miles powered by electricity since the vehicle launched late last year.
