Experience Current Position: Associate Dean, College of Human Sciences and Director of Human Sciences Extension and Outreach, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach (2013-present). Iowa State University, Ames, IA.  Primary Responsibilities: o Contribute to the overall vision and mission of the College of Human Sciences and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. o Lead and direct the Human Sciences Extension and Outreach community of approximately 100 faculty and staff on campus and across Iowa. o Provide responsible and ethical oversight of an $8.2 M budget, including federal and state funding, grants and contracts, and revenue generation. 

Key Accomplishments: o Created a financially secure unit while increasing faculty, staff, and student workers. o Implemented contemporary management and programming models, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration, cross-marketing, and shared responsibility for revenue generation. o Co-founded the Integration Pilot Project and the Engaged Scholarship Funding Program (ESFP), designed to establish campus-county-community partnerships. The ESFP pilot in fall 2015 resulted in nine proposals with a total funding request of $457,833.



Areas of Interest: o Adaptive living for people with aging-related limitations or disabilities and their families, with an emphasis on supporting functional abilities through access to services and technology. o The transformative process of informal educational networks such as the Cooperative Extension Service to increase capacity, relevancy, and impact for the 21st century. o The effects of human-canine interactions on mutual health and well-being.
