Charter and Private with summer season in Mediterranean, Atlantic crossing with winter season in Caribbean with another Atlantic crossing and a Mediterranean summer season.

Charter Yacht INDEPENDENT OF LONDON. During the winter of 2000 a major refit was successfully carried on under my supervision including the change of registry from private UK flag to commercial Luxembourg flag including completion of the Lloyd’s special survey.

! February 1999 to December 1999: Technical Surveyor and owner’s representative for the build of the Wally 95’ sailing yacht YAM. After launch, Captain on YAM private cruising Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel and also participating in yacht races.

April 1996 to February 1999, while still director of the company managing LUJA, captain on the Swan 76 Wild Tigris for a private owner, used mostly for entertain VIP’s. Sailed the yacht around Italy, Greece and Turkey for many thousands of miles.

.! April 1995 to April 1996: Captain on the 25 m. maxi yacht LUJA then arranging for the new owner the shipment of the yacht from Genoa to Hong Kong. Also took care of the commissioning, crew hiring, acquisition of new sails and electronic and communications equipment. The yacht, since arriving in Hong Kong, sailed extensively in the South China Sea (Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippines) under my command. December 1992 to January 1995: Lived in Finland for 5 months to survey and supervise the build of AKOJA, a Baltic 60’, and managing all aspects of the project. Then, as Captain of this yacht, sailed from Finland to Antibes with its owner. Successfully raced the yacht in Gotland Runt (1st), Cowes Week (2nd), Fastnet (12th) and Nioulargue (2nd). The yacht was exhibited at the Genoa Boat Show in 1993 and 1994 to represent Baltic Yacht’s finest product. For the same owner, I carried out a major refit on a Dynamic 62‘, which enabled its sale. In February of 1994, being responsible for the racing program for the same owner, I was appointed to purchase MUMM‘A MIA, a Mumm 36’ in the USA. I Organised and managed logistics, crew, sails and spare parts programs for the worldwide racing campaign which ended with MUMM‘A MIA as European Champion 1994 and

entitled us to represent Italy at the Admirals Cup 1995 which Mumm’a Mia eventually won.

! August 1992 to November 1992: Captain on 58’ RUNAWAY, on charter in the Adriatic Sea and around Greece and managed the sale of the vessel for the owner at the end of the season. October 1990 to August 1992: In charge for the purchasing of the Maxi Yacht EMERAUDE and then delivered it from Antibes to Ravenna. Project manager and owner’s surveyor for the refitting of the yacht and its conversion into a fast racer cruiser. I continued as Captain on EMERAUDE, a Freer’s 72‘ Maxi, cruising and racing the in Maxi Yacht Circuit.

! June 1990 to October 1990: Captain on a 72” classic wooden ketch, ENTEARA, a private yacht cruising in the Mediterranean.

August 1989 to October 89: Captain on A.K.DOC, a private yacht sailing the in the Mediterranean. October 1988 to July 1989: Captain on MARLIN BLUE, a Swan 51, from Rhodes to Antigua, then across the Atlantic Ocean with cruising in the Caribbean, both on charter and owner’s use, then back across to Italy where I carried out a refit. October 1987 to September 1988: Captain on A.K.DOC between Cannes and Antigua and then twice across the Atlantic Ocean. 1983 to 1987: Captain on Swan 57 Rampage med season and Caribbean season twice across the Atlantic ocean. Also sailing and racing on several yachts in Mediterranean, Caribbean and Baltic seas . Raced dinghies at the age of 13 and was chosen to represent L.N.I. at the Italian racing circuit Class 4.20.

Other Professional Experience Italian Master Mariners Association ( Collegio Capitani L. c. & m.) rappresentative for two years, as national responsible for the Pleasure and Commercial yachting . I was in charge of representing as consultant , the Collegio Capitani L.c. & m. at the Italian Ministry of Transport (MIT) for the board regulating the Seafarers qualifications and certifications .

Permanent Member of the Judging Commission, held by the Genova Harbour Master ( Capitaneria di Porto di Genova ) for the exams regarding the IMO STCW qualification for seafarers. Permanent Member of the Maritime Accident Enquiry Commission held by the Genova Harboure Master ( Capitaneria di Porto di Genova ) regarding all the maritime accident enquiry and investigations . I gained my initial experience at sea on board sailing and racing yachts , getting to know all the ropes of the profession .To date I had completed 8 Atlantic crossings I have sailed in the Baltic Sea , North sea, English Channel , and the Far East ( Hong Kong , Philippines and Taiwan ) , Atlantic Ocean , Mediterranean Sea , Caribbean sea . I been employed as Captain on a Charter yacht for over 10 years and on a private for 20 years. To date I completed many successful charters ,with clients of the highest level, not including on that the numerous cruises with the Owners.

CAREER OBJECTIVES My dedication is to the Sea and to the seaman’s trade which gives me the opportunity to spend a lot of my time sailing the seas of the world and learning about different cultures and seeing new places. Throughout my career I have made a constant effort to achieve the best possible results and to get as close to perfection as possible. I have learned from my experiences as a Captain of large motor yachts and racing yachts that the final result is the sum of many individual efforts and that it is my task to direct and encourage my crew to achieve the best result. Also, my most important job is to guarantee the yacht owner total satisfaction and enjoyment. I am inspired by a latin motto. ‘’NAVIGARE NECESSE EST, VIVERE NON EST NECESSE’’.
