Our History A hundred years of diverse experience in developing and providing products and services tailored to the chemical industry has shaped the successful global organization that WACKER is today. Wacker Chemie AG was founded in Germany in 1914 and has grown into a respected brand that delivers innovative and quality solutions. Construction

CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS FOR YOUR MARKETS WACKER is the market leader in silicones for personal care, hair care, health care, automotive, renewable energies, power transmission, power distribution and dispersible polymer powders for the construction industry. Dispersions for coatings, and adhesives and sealants for many key industries are other important parts of its extensive product portfolio. WACKER also manufactures cyclodextrins (emulsifiers and soluble dietary fibers) and 100% vegetarian-grade L-cystine and L-cysteine for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Construction WACKER gives the construction industry a unique and particularly diverse portfolio based on two chemical platforms, and created worldwide as individual solutions for individual markets and applications. Our dispersible polymer powders and dispersions are continually optimized to improve the key properties of your dry-mix mortar. Applications are tile adhesives, self-leveling compounds, skim coats, waterproofing membranes and ETICS. WACKER’s VAE-based dispersions are produced without the use of APEOs and have very low residual VAM, thus enabling formulation of paints without solvents or plasticizers. Our silicone products for buildings offer a wide variety of applications ranging from insulation materials to paints and plasters, impregnation and masonry injection. Innovative products based on WACKER’s award-winning alpha-silane technology are offering pioneering construction applications.

Health & Personal Care Silicones are playing an ever more important role in health and personal care because they have no known physiological effects. Sensitive siliconebased recipes and optimized formulations are tailored closely to the needs of the health and personal care industry, and meet market requirements for the production of innovative end products. WACKER silicone elastomers offer a comprehensive range of properties to meet a wide variety of demands. For example, very soft gels for external mammary protheses or wound care, soft rubber grades for catheters or masks and hard elastomers for robust tubing for the health care industry, as well as versatile silicones for bath care, hair care and color cosmetics, pyrogenic silicas for toothpastes and deodorants, and innovative cyclodextrins for skin care – especially the incorporation of demanding substances like retinol or vitamins. WACKER develops tailored textile auxiliaries for textile finishing and process optimization to satisfy your individual needs. (WCIN) and WMC (Wacker Metroark Chemicals Pvt. Ltd) represent the Group on the subcontinent WCIN was incorporated in 2009 and handles marketing activities in India for dispersible polymer powders & dispersions, cysteine and cyclodextrins. The corporate office and technical center is situated in Mumbai. The Mumbai office also houses the WACKER ACADEMY which offers continually updated training courses on products and applications. Founded in 1998, WMC is active in Greater India’s important trade centers, with sales offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai, as well as in Bangladesh. Key markets are sectors such as textiles, personal care, construction, coatings, power transmission and distribution, plastics, adhesives and packaging. Trusted High-Quality Standards in Manufacturing and Supply. With an annual production capacity exceeding 20,000 metric tons, WMC’s state-of-the-art production site in Amtala additionally has laboratories where product and process development and analysis of the plant’s products are carried out. The plant’s Environment Management Systems and Quality Management Systems are certified by international agencies by means of ISO 14001 and 9001 certifications. As part of a German conglomerate, the plant is also bound by strict EHSS norms. Environmental protection, alongside health and safety, is at the core of all WACKER processes, and WMC is committed to adhering to the guidelines laid down for production processes and employee safety.
