Apoka Safari Lodge | Kidepo Valley National Park 4 nights When you close your eyes and think of Africa, the landscape you imagine – the jagged hills, the golden grasses, the plains dotted with wildlife, the soft glowing light ~ is likely to be Kidepo ~ as remote as you can get! Activities & Wildlife Wildlife in Kidepo is abundant. Lions, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, zebra (this is Uganda’s only park where giraffe and zebra are found together), possibly Africa’s largest herds of buffalo, hartebeest, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthog… the list is endless. Better still, much of it can be seen from the privacy of your veranda or your outdoor bathtub, but the best way to see the wildlife is up close: on foot, or in one of our open-top Landcruisers. Do you want stride out across the savanna and walk with zebras? Spend time in a Karamojong village learning about their traditional way of life? Enjoy a sundowner in the arms of a massive fig tree? Sit and watch a breeding herd of elephant frolicking in the mud? Accommodation The rooms at Apoka have been built with comfort in mind. Everything is handmade by local craftsmen, everything is large and capacious. 10 expansive rooms with natural canvas walls surround a rocky kopje with endless views across the savannah. Pick up from Kisoro Airstrip and transfer by road for 2 hours to Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge in Southern Bwindi National Park. In the afternoon have a high tea and visit the Community in Nkuringo village. Day 5 Depart after an early breakfast to Kisoro a scheduled flight to Entebbe at 09h10 /11h25. Stay at airport and connect to a scheduled flight to Kidepo. Evening game drive/walk. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non premium brand drinks) Day 6 Game drive and afternoon visit the Karamojong community in Lorukul village. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non premium brand drinks) Day 7 Morning nature walk and evening game drive with sun downer. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non premium brand drinks) Day 8 Visit the Kidepo valley a chance to see the hot springs and ostriches. Alternatively you can choose to visit the IK tribe on Murongole hill but requires maximum fitness. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (FB + non premium brand drinks) Day 9 Spend morning at leisure and transfer to the Kidepo airstrip, then transfer to Boma Hotel for day room and later to the airport for flight out.
