Bulletin No. 1 – Aerobatic Freestyle Challenge 2013

1.

General

1.1.

Organizer

1.1.1.

Aim of the contest is to promote sporting skills of best aerobatic pilots and also to promote and popularize aerobatics. The contest will be broadcasted to TV and on the Internet. The contest will be also a show for local viewers with skilled commentator.

1.1.2.

Mission statement: Do a SHOW with classic aerobatic figures and rules.

1.1.3.

Aerobatic Freestyle Challenge 2013 (AFC 2013) is organized by Aerobatic Flying Club s.r.o., Revoluční 1082/8, 101 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic.

1.1.4.

Aerobatic Freestyle Challenge 2013 will be conducted under supervision of FAI, classified as second class event.

1.1.5.

Aerobatic Freestyle Challenge 2013 will be conducted under supervision of Czech National Aeroclub.

1.2.

Place and Date

1.2.1.

AFC 2013 will be held at Letňany Airport, Prague, Czech Republic from June 6th to June 9th, 2013.

1.3.

Training Flights

1.3.1.

The on-site training will be possible from June 5th, 2013. Every pilot will have a training slot assigned by the Organizer. Organizer will also provide possibility to use other training airports before this date. Those training days will be organized according to individual competitor needs.

1.3.2.

Slots for training will be published by the Organizer.

1.4.

Qualification flights

1.4.1.

Qualification flights are mandatory and will be flown at 7th of June 2013.

1.5.

Competition flights

1.5.1.

Competition flights are mandatory and will be flown at 8th of June, 2013. Organizer will select pilots to participate in competition flights according to results of Qualification flights. Main goal is to allow as many pilots as possible to fly the main TV Broadcasted competition.

Regulations

2.1.

Rules

2.1.1.

The AFC 2013 will be conducted according to the following rules: • AFC 2013 Rules, • Flight Rules published by the Civil Aviation Authorities of the Czech Republic, • Local Regulations.

2.1.2.

AFC rules will be provided to competitors separately and will be available at official event website (www.aerobaticchallenge.com).

2.2.

Results

2.2.1.

Results will be calculated using simple average according to AFC 2013 Rules. Any kind of protests, scoring corrections and similar actions will be taken after the main competition without repeating of the Awarding Ceremony.

3.

Official Language

3.1.

Official Language

3.1.1.

The official languages during the AFC 2013 are Czech and English. The language of all communications and briefings is English.

4.

Participation, Competitors and Aircrafts

4.1.

Participants

4.1.1.

Participants are selected and invited by the Organizer.

4.1.2.

Each competitor has to be a holder of: • a valid Pilot License, • a valid personal insurance policy, • a valid Medical check, • a valid ACR and SEP or equivalent rating.

4.2.

Aircraft

4.2.1.

All participating aircraft must satisfy the performance criteria essential for competition flights in the unlimited aerobatic category.

4.2.2.

For all competing aircraft a valid Certificate of Airworthiness of the related country must be presented.

4.2.3.

For all competing aircraft using the airspace of the Czech Republic, liability insurance must be concluded with respect to damage caused by operation of that aircraft to

third parties covering a minimum amount in SDR (Special Drawing Rights) or in equivalent value of any other freely convertible currencies, for the aircraft with MTOW as mentioned below: • MTOW up to 1000 kg 1.500.000 SDR (approx. 1.800.000 EUR) • MTOW above 1000 kg to 2700 kg 3.000.000 SDR (approx. 3.600.000 EUR)

4.2.4.

Each competing aircraft must be insured against 3rd Party Public Liability claims with a minimum amount as mentioned above according to MTOW. Aircraft arriving in the Czech Republic must be able to present their insurance policy with a copy in English, certified by the Insurance Company.

4.2.5.

Hangar space for competing aircraft will be available free of charge.

4.2.6.

Fuel, Oil and Smoke filling will be supplied by the Organizer free of charge.

5.

5.2.

Accommodation

Accommodation and catering will be provided by the Organizer.

9.

Airfield Information and the Box

9.1.1.

Communication frequency 120,325 MHz only will be used during competition flights. There will be no other safety frequency. Competitors will use this frequency during whole flight including taxiing.

9.2.

Performance zone

9.2.1.

The box will be oriented in parallel with the main runway (05L/23R). Main axis direction will be 051°/231°. Judging position will be situated 150m from box edge on a side of a display line.

9.2.2.

Display line will be marked by markings different from the box. Display line position is at NW edge of 05L/23R RWY.

9.2.3.

Display line cannot be infringed at any time. Infringement will lead to immediate disqualification of the pilot.

9.2.4.

Line judges will not be used.

9.2.5.

Box dimensions are 1km in the axis parallel with runway and 600 meters in the cross box axis.

9.2.6.

All sequences will be made by Organizer in cooperation with Int. Jury and Board of Judges with respect to reduced box dimensions and with respect to other circumstances crucial for this type of the event.
