ii GORTON COMMUNITY CENTER | 2014 Annual Report

Dear Friends You have made an extraordinary difference in the life of Gorton Community Center. There’s a new energy and momentum here that created one of the most exciting years Gorton has ever experienced.

The most amazing news of all is the beginning of the transformation of Gorton which became a reality when we broke ground in October. The reimagining of Gorton into a state-of-the-art Community and Performing Arts Center is underway. Walls are coming down. Drywall is going up. Sound systems and lighting are being installed along with new theater seats, a digital projector and movie screen. You will now walk into a sun-filled first floor with inviting new rooms for us to gather. The leadership role that the Gorton Board of Directors and Advisory Committee played, launched the Community Spirit Transformed campaign. Thanks to their vision and philanthropy, the Community responded by strongly supporting our two campaign goals: Gorton’s renovation and building the endowment, which will provide financial stability and creative programming opportunities. On behalf of the Community we serve, Gorton thanks YOU, our generous donors and tireless volunteers. Come in and see your community center in action. You make amazing things happen here. With gratitude,

Mark Ventling Chairman

Brenda Dick Executive Director
