Colonel Theodore Roosevelt
The second sculpture in this exclusive series for Friends of NRA captures the energy and livelihood of the 26th U.S. President. Renowned sculptor Rick Terry has captured the intensity of one of our country’s most recognizable figures, Theodore Roosevelt.
In his autobiography, Roosevelt wrote, “A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.” Roosevelt felt that the tools available for this country’s citizens to utilize have effectiveness when manipulated wisely; how one chooses to exercise these rights reflects one’s thought processes. In this way, he shows that voting, and essentially the right to bear arms, is not only a physical activity, but also a state of mind.
A natural-born leader, Roosevelt’s interests ranged from politics to the great outdoors. He was chosen to represent the Perpetual Affirmations Sponsor Series because, as a “steward of the people,” he worked hard toward progressive reforms and conservation efforts. Also a celebrated war hero, Roosevelt firmly believed in our Constitutional rights and the rights of the American citizens to be politically active.
This sculpture, cast in resin and pewter with a gold highlighted finish and patina bronze look, stands approximately 12 inches tall. Each sculpture comes individually boxed in a custom black and gold cardboard box. It also includes a black high gloss marble look base and Sponsor Multitool.
The spirit of Friends of NRA lives on through this sculpture with the stark help from the friends and supporters of the NRA.
