Mission & Impact Statements Mission The mission of Doing Good is to educate and engage communities by promoting and celebrating "Doing Good" through volunteerism. The vision of Doing Good is to be the conduit to educate and inspire cultural shifts toward community volunteerism. The values of Doing Good are: Inspiration Inclusivity Connectivity Authenticity Integrity Quality Support and A Personal Approach The "big idea" is to increase the number of people who volunteer. When more volunteer, everyone benefits. Background Doing Good began as an idea - an answer to a need for positive information. From one person with an idea to one-on-one meetings with hundreds of people, the idea quickly evolved into a community project. In fact, it was in these meetings where local residents recommended it become a non-profit organization. Over time and after much paperwork to protect the intellectual property, its 501c3 status was awarded in late 2014. Building upon its past successes, traction was gained in 2015. The Nashville's Volunteer of the Month program began reaching 500,000 local residents monthly with the personal stories of local volunteers thanks to local Media Partners online and in print. The area's largest list of agencies available for free was available on www.DoingGood.tv. Over 12,500 were included. Three volunteer committees were formed, maintained, and grew: Finance, TV Show, and Events. The "new" Board met and was given an orientation by a Center for Nonprofit Management Consultant. The video used to sell the national tv show was shot, edited and premiered at the local Film-Com event. The first Doing Good interns began - one a Business Coordinator, the other a Creative Writer. The first, short videos now viewable on the DoingGoodTV YouTube Channel were shot and edited 100% by volunteers. The annual appreciation event was held for local Volunteer Managers, featuring panelists and a Q&A. And, the annual Holiday Party for Doing Good volunteers was a success for all. In short, the history of Doing Good has been focused on laying a solid foundation to move forward successfully each year. This year Doing Good plans to sell its national television show to a major network (ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox). Once that occurs, the operations to support all Doing Good efforts locally and nationally must be in place to sustain itself and grow as opportunities allow. Impact Four specific accomplishments in 2014 for Doing Good were: -developed first, operational committees -worked with first interns -raised over $10,000 in its first year with the 501c3 status -shot, edited & premiered the video to sell the national tv show The top priorities for 2016 are to: -sell the national tv show -establish the financial sustainability of the organization -further develop the infrastructure of Doing Good

Needs The single, most pressing need for Doing Good is money. Doing Good is developing a diversity of revenue streams, yet it takes time for each to come to fruition. (For example, Doing Good actively participates in the Kroger program! Yet less than $50 was brought in by it in 2015. It takes time for more to register and for it to start paying off.) Therefore, in 2016, Doing Good is largely seeking sponsorships, grant funding, and individual donations to bridge the timeframe for this young non-profit to lay a solid foundation. Other ways to donate, support, or volunteer MONETARY Doing Good operates 100% by volunteers and welcomes any type of support. Monetary donations can be donated online, in person via cash or check, sent via regular mail to the Doing Good office, or by participating in corporate programs (donations of gas points, donations through the Kroger Community Card program, etc). Sponsorships are invited - by large and small companies alike. IN-KIND DONATIONS Other types of support are needed as well. One is in-kind donations such as the use of conference rooms for Committee Meetings or Administrative Assistance. Another is donations for the Doing Good annual Garage Sale. VOLUNTEERING Yet another form of in-kind donation is through individual volunteerism. Doing Good currently seeks volunteers for the following committees: -Events (meets monthly) -Finance (meets quarterly) -Social Media (meets only as needed) All Doing Good volunteers are invited to its Monthly MeetUps. Each month, Doing Good volunteers meet other Doing Good volunteers involved in different projects. These locations vary month to month, moving to a different location each time in the 14-county area.

TN - Smith TN - Sumner TN - Trousdale TN - Williamson TN - Wilson The geographic area served by Doing Good is the 14-county area of Metro Nashville as defined by its MSA. Yet, Doing Good media coverage reaches more than the 14-county area because of its reach online and through one, statewide Media Partner. Doing Good is headquartered in Nashville, TN, the capital of The Volunteer State.

Board Chair Statement Juan Gomez Hoyos is the Board Member focused on Governance. In addition to his work with UTC Aerospace Systems he is currently authoring a book bringing together best practices in non-profit and corporate organizations. McInnis is currently serving as both Board President and Executive Director of Doing Good. This dual role is common in young non-profits but will not last much longer. CEO Statement Doing Good is increasing the number of people who volunteer in a positive, unique way. By sharing the real stories of real people making a real difference in the community, others are inspired to action - and educated about volunteerism. Doing Good provides marketing and public relations tools and opportunities to non-profit and government agencies. When agencies take advantage of these resources, they become able to spend less time and money on marketing and public relations to increase their number of volunteers and more time and money on their own mission. Doing Good is a new business model. Its work creates win-win opportunities for all involved.

Short YouTube Videos Description

Doing Good is producing short YouTube videos celebrating a volunteer from participating agencies. Each agency is given the link to use at their leisure for as long as they'd like. (For years, most likely.) Examples of this usage include websites, newsletters, Staff and Volunteer Orientations, trade show displays, social media and electronic signatures. Each video is 1 to 1 1/2 minutes in length each. All are published on the DoingGoodTV YouTube Channel. "Production Days" are the how the YouTube videos are created. Local, industry professionals are hired to direct, shoot, and edit each video. Local universities with film classes are partnered with for select film students to gain quality, hands-on experience while being mentored by industry professionals. All industry professionals are working for Doing Good at discounted rates. Studio space, food, and some equipment are typically donated. Production Days are set up to shoot multiple volunteers in a short amount of time. The first day is the Studio Day where all interested volunteers and agency representatives are welcomed with white glove treatment. There, the featured volunteers are interviewed on camera. Up to 12 volunteers can be interviewed in one day. Afterwards, the production crew visits up to four agencies on-site per day to shoot b-roll. Depending upon availability, this b-roll can be of an event, the agency office, or any location the volunteer and agency prefer. Throughout the process, Doing Good works with each agency to determine if there is additional messaging desired then works with each editor to provide a lasting, personal, quality video to be used in multiple ways for the agency. For one "set" of Production Days, up to 12, different videos can be produced. The cost is $11,900 for one set of Production Days, or $992 per video. That means five are required for one year's worth of videos, for a total cost of $59,500.

CEO Comments As a new non-profit, Doing Good serves any local agency with volunteers. It provides marketing and public relations tools, opportunities, and resources for these agencies - and they can spend more of their time and money on their mission rather than recruiting volunteers. Most of the services already produced by Doing Good - the YouTube videos, the website, Nashville's Volunteer of the Month, etc. - have been provided by volunteers, personal donations, and greatly discounted rates. To continue providing quality tools, opportunities, and resources, funding is necessary for all to continue. This is currently being addressed by participating in corporate community programs, obtaining sponsorships, submitting grant proposals, and developing a diversity of small revenue streams.

CEO Comments The Board’s primary duties are strategic implementation of programs and processes - providing strategic leadership through Board decisions and strategic guidance when working with Committees. Seven of the eleven Board Members have not served on a non-profit Board of Directors until now. Therefore, Doing Good is training current and future Board Members in leadership development with the intent of Doing Good becoming an ideal "first experience" for those interested in community leadership and serving on other Boards in the future.
