RAY-CORE INC Wall Panel Installation Instructions Step1: Build and nail all window and door frames to top and bottom plates in desired position.

Step2: Apply standard construction adhesive on foam edge of panel. Push panels together so the foam side of panel touches the wood side of the adjoining panel, making sure they are tight and square.

Step3: To build corner, attach double stud on end of wall section using standard framing nails.

Step4: Nail bottom and top plate to each integrated stud 16” or 24” OC. (*This will not only tie panels together but keep them tight, so make sure they are tight before you nail.)

Step5: When your wall meets a door or window simply cut the panel so it butts tight against the king stud on the window or door frame.

Step6: Cut panels with a 10 ¼” or 16” circular saw depending on thickness of panel.

Step7: Cut a piece of panel to fit under window. Nail into place.

Step 8: Stand wall (*Sheathing can be placed either before or after wall has been stood.)

Step 9: Nail bottom plate to subfloor on each side of the wall.

Step 10: Tape all seams to seal all seams & exposed lumber.

Step 11: Wiring: Panels can come equipped with pre-molded wire chases at 18”, or panels can be routed out using a router, rotozip, or sawzall where channels are needed. Drill studs per code requirements where needed, place wire in chase and backfill chase with any standard polyurethane canned foam. See (www.youtube.com/raycoreinc) for more detail & videos.

How do I frame with RAY-CORE on a Slab-on-Grade Foundation? Step 1: Bottom Plate: Line up treated lumber with J-bolts. Mark and drill holes through bottom plate. *Make sure mark is noticeable so you can find the drilled holes after the wall is stood.

Step 2: Nail top and bottom plates into integrated studs 16” or 24” o.c.

Step 3: Make sure treated bottom plate is still lined up with J-bolts. Stand wall making sure the wall is supported by proper temporary supports.

Step 4: Make OSB cut-out template (approx. 4”x6”). Using a hand held drywall saw, cut out around template where J-bolts are located.

Step 5: Knock out foam cutout so J-bolt is exposed. Place proper washer /nut on J-bolt and tighten to specs.

Step 6: Place 4”x6” foam block back in place after inspector has inspected the connection.

Examples of Hurricane straps and holdowns installed with RAY-CORE Hold down example. Cut the foam section out , then insert bracket. Can-foam to fill in gap. This process is universal for all Simpson brackets that require embedment in wall cavity.

Hurricane Straps example (ie: Simpson STHD straps). Hurricane straps are nailed into the integrated studs that are imbedded into the panel 16”or 24” o.c (just as you do in conventional framing). If the integrated stud in the panel does not line up with the STHD strap then you will need to place a stud in proper location during the framing process.

RAY-CORE INC Roof Panel Installation Instructions Step 1: Prepare roof for RAY-CORE panels by placing down T&G etc. on top of rafters.

Step 2: Place panels on top of T&G making sure they are tight (some choose to place visqueen plastic on top of the T&G first). Glue all raw foam edges with a construction adhesive to insure a tight seal.

Step 3: Use 5”-11” screws made by Oly Log or True Fast to fasten panels to rafters, drilling through integrated studs 16” or 24” O.C. into rafters. Place screws as required.

Step 4: If using a cold roof application place 2x4 sleepers flat on top of panels screwing into studs that are 16” or 24” O.C.

Step 5: -If using a Metal Roof, place metal roof down on top of panels screwing into studs 16” O.C. -If using Asphalt Shingles place OSB down first then apply tarpaper and shingles as code requires.

*Make sure to check with local building codes on the use of different roof applications.
