Mission Statement Every Child a Success!
Superintendent's Highlights The district has now institutionalized NWEA/MAPS testing in Grades 3-10 and all appropriate staff have been trained to utilize this system to monitor student progress and provide remediation to individual students; assistance was provided through the use of TOSAs provided through RPDP. Professional Learning Communities are working in all schools and are instrumental in the creation of School Improvement Plans. Character education was introduced at all schools and instances of fighting and truancy continue to decline. A Restructure Plan was developed with significant staff and parent involvement and was submitted for Rosemary Clarke Middle School to the state.
Goals and Objectives The district did see an increase in its graduation rate and a corresponding decrease in the drop out rate for the period. Overall instances of fighting and the number of expulsions were down in the area of student safety. The district had been working on alignment of all curricula with state standards, however, that movement has been halted pending the state’s adoption of national standards. Professional Learning Communities have been instituted in all Nye County Schools and are instrumental in the analysis of test data and school improvement planning. All schools now use the NWEA/MAPS formative testing system to drive instruction and provide remediation for students.

Data as of: Count Day This table shows the number and percent of students who are expected to graduate in a given year that are credit deficient. Because of the changes in law (NAC 387.659) that affect the way credit deficient students are identified, no comparison should be made between 2009-2010 results and any prior year. '*' Indicates the grade level was not present.
Student/Teacher Ratio Student/Teacher Ratio is listed for all classes whose students do not rotate to different teachers. All School
