DAY 2 PORTO - REGUA Breakfast on board then cruise off towards Regua along the Douro valley and admire the outstanding wooded landscapes and meadows on the way. You will pass Carrapatelo, the highest lock in Spain at 35m before arriving in Regua around 2.00pm. Departure by coach for an optional guided visit to Lamego and Discover Nossa Senhorã Dos Remedios sanctuary and the cathedral. Return to the ship in Regua for dinner around 6.30pm followed by a dance. DAY 3

REGUA - PINHAO - PORTO ANTIGO

Buffet breakfast on board before leaving on an optional excursion to visit the Solar de Mateus in Vila Real, a magnificent 16th century manor house owned by a noble Portuguese family with its beautiful French gardens. Return to the ship in Pinhao around 1.00pm. Lunch before continuing sailing along the river towards Porto Antigo, through the very heart of the famous Porto vineyards planted in terraces on the magnificent rolling hills which rise to 700m before falling steeply down to the river again. Arrive in Porto Antigo around 6.00pm. Dinner on board followed by an entertaining evening. Overnight stop.

DAY 4 PORTO ANTIGO - PORTO Buffet breakfast on board before sailing off towards Porto. Morning spent cruising along the charming Douro river. Aperitif games will be organised in the lounge. Lunch on board before reaching Porto at the end of the morning. Then visit the city (optional). Porto is the second largest city in Portugal and one of the oldest in Europe. Discover one of the most famous wine cellars and taste the delicious wines. Return to the ship for dinner. Enjoy a free evening in Porto. DAY 5 PORTO - GUIMARAES* BRAGA* - PORTO

Breakfast on board then a free morning to stroll around Porto before returning for lunch on board. In the afternoon, depart on an optional excursion by coach to Guimarães, historic town associated with Portuguese national identity in 12th century and its beautifully preserved monuments which date back to medieval times. Then on to Braga known under the name of the “Portuguese Rome” one of the most attractive cities in Portugal. Return to the ship for a gala dinner and folk evening. DAY 6 PORTO Breakfast on board. Disembark at 9.00am End of the cruise. Formalities : National ID cards or passports are obligatory Non-EU residents are advised to check with their embassy or consulate. DAY 2 LISBON Breakfast at the hotel. The whole morning will be devoted to a guided tour of the Portuguese capital, which was taken from the Moors by the first king of Portugal in 1147 and chosen as capital city in 1255 to replace Coimbra. The city stretches over 7 hills offering many different viewpoints. Discover the cultural centre of Belem with its famous tower, an architectural jewel, reminiscent of the Hieronymite monastery in Venice, a masterpiece of Manueline art. Lunch followed by a panoramic sightseeing coach tour of Lisbon, known as the city of light. Discover the Sao Jorge castle, surrounded by the medieval quarters of Alfama and Mouraria. Return to the hotel for dinner. Free evening. Overnight stop.

DAY 5 REGUA - VEGA DE TERON (Spain) Buffet breakfast on board before setting off on an excursion to Vila Real (optional), famous for the diversity of its religious architectural styles. Take time to stroll through the beautiful gardens of the Solar de Mateus before returning to the ship in Pinhao for lunch. The cruise continues along through the heart of the famous vineyards of Porto, passing the lock of Valeria before arriving in Vega de Teron in the evening. Dinner on board followed by a special crew show.

DAY 3 LISBON - COIMBRA - PORTO Breakfast at the hotel before leaving by coach to Coimbra, a romantic place which has inspired many poets and famous for its university which was formerly one of the most important seats of Humanism in the country. Lunch followed in the afternoon by a guided visit of this charming city, with its narrow picturesque streets and cathedral built in 1598 offering a combination of Byzantine canopies, gothic altarpieces and Renaissance chapels. Leave for Porto by coach Board the ship and settle comfortably in your cabins before being presented to the crew and served a warm welcome cocktail in the lounge. Dinner on board followed by an optional visit to see the Porto illuminations in the evening. DAY 1 PORTO Welcome on board from 5.00pm before settling in your cabins. Meet the crew during a welcome cocktail reception in the lounge. Dinner will be served on board followed later in the evening by an excursion (optional) to see the Porto illuminations. DAY 2 PORTO - REGUA Following a buffet breakfast on board, set off on a sightseeing tour (optional) of Porto, one of the oldest cities in Europe, whose historic centre with its unspoiled old quarters, a maze of winding narrow streets, houses with archways and splendid churches was awarded Unesco world heritage site status. However, Porto is known first and foremost for its famous port wine made from grapes that are grown in the vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see along the banks of the Douro. In Vila Nova de Gaia, visit a wine cellar where this exceptional wine mellows and

matures slowly and secretly, and taste the “precious nectar”. Return to the ship for lunch then cruise onto Regua, admiring the marvellous scenery that the cruise offers. On the way, we will pass the locks of Crestuma and Carrapatelo, which is the highest in Europe at 36 m before arriving at around 8.00pm in Regua. Dinner on board followed by a dance or a guided walking tour (optional) of Regua by night.
