Teach-A-Bodies

Teach-A-Bodies anatomically detailed dolls are a useful resource for educators teaching people with intellectual disability about body parts, public/private concepts, puberty, and relationship boundaries. Teach-A-Bodies dolls are a set of soft cuddly dolls made of washable polyester knit and stuffing. The set consists of a male adult, female adult, male child and female child doll. All dolls are made with individual fingers and ears and have mouth, vaginal and anal openings.

Sex, Safe and Fun FREE Family Planning NSW: 2004 ISBN 1877026093

Sex, Safe and Fun is for people with a disability and their carers. It has a booklet with pictures that give information about good sex and bad sex. It comes with a reader’s guide that helps carers to talk about the pictures and the key messages. The language is simple and direct. There are important messages about good sex including consent, enjoyment, intimacy, privacy and safety. These are presented in contrast to bad sex. Bad sex is used to describe behaviours and activities that are unsafe, wrong (ie generally not socially tolerated), and in some cases against the law.

Planning a Baby CHANGE

A 38-page easy read booklet developed with people with learning disabilities. Topics include: contraception, sexual health; ovulation; healthy eating; pregnancy tests and fertilisation. The booklet uses easy words and pictures to support people with learning disabilities to plan a baby.

My Pregnancy, My Choice CHANGE

A 436-page easy read book in simple words and pictures which covers all aspects of antenatal care; knowing if you are pregnant; your developing baby; problems during pregnancy and the first days with your baby.
