Suitable for Mobile Use and Highly Economical Inter Control's digsy is an I/O interface module enabling the building up of a CANBUS network with decentralized components especially designed for mobile outdoor machinery. So far, in every functional geometric place where sensors and actuators were to be connected, it was necessary to install a connection box with distributor, wiring block, multiple connectors, and lastly a wire harness. The digsy serves as a decentralized interface module for sensors and actuators. Each sensor can be directly three-pole connected (plus, ground, and signal) by plugging which makes laborious screw-terminal connections unnecessary. The shielding possibly existing in the case of analog sensors can be directly and EMC-suitably connected to the metal enclosure in the form of a ground star point. CCN

The extremely good price-performance ratio is intensified by integrated hardware functions which, when installing the system in its entirety, bring further advantages and cost saving, including:

CCN

- cost saving due to simple cabling - cost saving since terminal strips are no longer required - cost saving since strain relief elements are unnecessary - cost saving by quick wiring with spring tension clamps suitable for mobile use *) - cost saving by quick-action keyhole fastening *) - cost saving since it allows quick functional checks by means of LEDs *) - cost saving due to uniform components in maintenance and stock-keeping *) switchcabinet version

CAN BUS Physical BUS-characteristics according to EN 11898 (high-speed BUS). The protocol meets the standard specified by the CiA: CANopen.

CANopen characteristics: - receive-PDO (1 or 2, depending on the digsy type) - transmit-PDO (1 or 2, depending on the digsy type) - 1 SDO - node-guarding - life-guarding - emergency object - CANopen-slave - minimum boot-up - node ID distribution: switches - status switching RESET, PRE_OPERATIONAL, PREPARED, and OPERATIONAL to CANopen CCN

- device profile for I/O-modules (CiA DS-401) - transmission rates: 250/ 200/ 125/ 100/ 62.5/ 50/ 20/ 10 [kBits/s] The digsy can be used both in CANopennetworks and in non-standardized CANnetworks. CCN

Safety Measures The functional safety is increased by the following measures:

- general measures: - watchdog - node-monitoring via CAN-BUS - fault message via CAN-BUS - permanent backreading of the outputs - continuous testing of the inputs - defined output cut-off - load-dump-protection

- error treatment: the occurrence of an error on one or several outputs results in the following: - indication on the device with the LED APP_ERR (application error) - cut-off of the affected output (user-defined) - message to the network master via emergency message

- individual measures with the digsy analog: - permanent monitoring of the A/Dconverters - permanent monitoring of the linearity CCN

Environmental Conditions - tests according to CE-symbol EMC-guidelines - immunity to interference in vehicles according to: - DIN 40839T1 - DIN 40839T3 - EG-RL-95-54/EG - suitable for mobile use - immune to vibration - shock resistant

- mechanical stress according to: - DIN IEC68 T2-6 - DIN IEC68 T2-27 - DIN IEC68 T2-29 - ambient operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C (-13 °F to +185 °F) - climatic stress according to: - IEC 68T2-1 - IEC 68T2-2 - IEC 68T2-14 - IEC 68T2-30

- 8x inputs digital The active switching level is, separated in groups of four, adjustable to "1"-switching or "0"-switching (ground-switching). The switching is effected via the CAN-BUS. The green LEDs are always illuminated with logic "1", irrespective of the selected active switching level. The luminosity is independent of the supply voltage. - 8x outputs digital - output current: 1.5 A (per output) If required, several outputs can be connected in parallel. - short-circuit proof - overload-proof - overvoltage-proof - polarity reversal protection - freewheeling diodes prevent overvoltages in the case of inductive loads - signal voltage: 12/24 V DC (configurable) - power supply 8 V to 32 V (12 V and 24 V on-board voltage) - backreading of output levels - input levels configurable (ground-switching) in 2 groups - load-dump-protection - 8x LED green for each input - 8x LED yellow for each output - 1x LED for operating voltage - 1x LED for diagnosis (2 colors) - 2x LED for status and fault diagnosis

- 16x inputs digital The active switching level is, separated in groups of four, adjustable to "1"-switching or "0"-switching (ground-switching). The switching is effected via the CAN-BUS. The green LEDs are always illuminated with logic "1", irrespective of the selected active switching level. The luminosity is independent of the supply voltage. - signal voltage: 12/24 V DC (configurable) - power supply 8 V to 32 V (12 V and 24 V on-board voltage) - input signal configurable (ground-switching) in 2 groups - load-dump-protection - 16x LED green for each input - 1x LED for operating voltage - 1x LED for diagnosis (2 colors) - 2x LED for status and fault diagnosis

- 8x inputs analog (in total) standard voltage input: 0 to 10 V resolution: 12 bit 4 inputs of which the following is alternative: standard current input: 0 to 20 mA resolution: 12 bit selection of standard voltage/current by different pins - 2x outputs analog PWM output current: 3 A resolution: 8 bit PWM-frequency fPWM: 153 Hz to 39.0 kHz - short-circuit-proof - overload-proof - overvoltage cut-off - undervoltage cut-off Only one of the two PWM-outputs can be active at a time. It is conceivable to drive proportional valves or hydraulic motors with these PWM-outputs. However, it has to be taken into account that in this case it is just a control of such valves that takes place, not a closed-loop current control! - 1x output analog voltage output: 0 to 5 V output current: 2.0 mA - short-circuit-proof - power supply 8 V to 32 V (12 V and 24 V on-board voltage) - backreading of the analog output level - load-dump-protection - 2x LED yellow for each PWM-output - 1x LED for operating voltage - 1x LED for diagnosis (2 colors) - 2x LED for status and fault diagnosis
