1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Thank you for purchasing the Edison Temperature/Humidity and Dew Point Multimeter. To get the best service from this instrument, read carefully this user manual and respect the detailed safety precautions. The meter is a temperature and humidity measuring instrument, used to measure the humidity and temperature in offices, storeroom’s, buildings, greenhouses and places where a controlled environment is essential. 1.1. Precautionary safety measures

To get the best service from this meter, please read this manual carefully.

1.2. During use

• DO NOT touch the humidity sensor. • DO NOT expose the sensor to direct light, this causes a false reading. • NEVER store the product together with solvents, acids or other aggressive substances.

1.3. Maintaining the product

• DO NOT use in high temperature environments. • When not using the instrument for a long time, please remove the batteries and avoid storing in high temperature and high humidity.

4. Operation Instruction *NOTE: In order to ensure the accuracy of the measurement readings, all the interference sources which may affect the measurement results about temperature and humidity (such as the hand) must be clear from the sensor. 4.1. ON/OFF

1. First remove the meters protective sensor cover. 2. Press the ON/OFF key to turn the power ‘ON’. 3. The LCD will display the current value of humidity and temperature. Default setting is %RH/°C (humidity/temperature). 4. To turn the meter ‘off ’ press the ON/OFF key for 2 seconds. Note: The power to the meter will switch off automatically after 20 minutes but be aware that leaving the meter in for any length of time will drain the battery.

4.2. UNIT

1. When the meter is switched ‘on’ press the UNIT key to change through the 4 different humidity/temperature measurement options. 2. The available setting are as follows: %RH/°C, td°C/°C , %RH/°F, td°C/°F (%RH = Relative humidity / td°C = Dew-point temperature) 4.3. MODE

1. When the meter is switched ‘on’ and the required ‘UNIT’ (%RH/°C, td°C/°C , %RH/°F, td°C/°) has been selected press the MODE key to display the Maximum or Minimum readings, this is acknowledged with the symbol MAX or MIN on the LCD display. 2. To cancel the Maximum or Minimum readings press the MODE key until the symbols no longer appear on the LCD Screen.

4.4. HOLD/LIGHT

HOLD HOLD 1. Press the LIGHT key to freeze the reading shown, the LCD will display the H symbol. HOLD 2. Press the LIGHT key once more to cancel the hold function. The H symbol will disappear NOTE: As a safety feature, the meter will not turn ‘off’ if the HOLD function is activated.

LIGHT HOLD 1. When the meter is switched ‘on’ press the LIGHT key for 2 seconds. The back-light will be turned ‘on’ and the icon will display on the LCD. 2. To turn the back-light ‘off ’ press the HOLD key again for 2 seconds, the LIGHT icon will also disappear. 4.5. Auto power off setting

When the meter is powered on, it is under auto power off mode. This means the meter will power itself ‘off‘ after 20 minutes if no keys are operated.

To override the auto power off mode: HOLD 1. When the meter is ‘off’ press the LIGHT key and hold down while also pressing the ON/OFF key. The LCD will display ‘AP OFF’. 2. Press the HOLD key again to confirm the setting and turn on the meter. The LIGHT auto power off mode is now activated. 3. The meter will now have to be turned off manually for the auto power off function to be restored. 5. Maintenance 5.1. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

The meter may be wiped down with a damp (not wet) sponge or cloth using a mild water based detergent or anti-bacterial soap and rinsed under a gentle stream of cold water. NOTE: This unit is not designed for complete submersion or washing in water. 5.2. BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Use the following procedure: When the battery voltage drops below the required operation range the symbol will appear on the LCD display and the batteries need to be replaced. 1. On the back of the meter, slide the battery cover in the direction of the arrowhead to open the battery cover. 2. Replace the batteries with 3 new 1.5V batteries (AAA). 3. Replace the battery cover.
