Digimar CX 2 Precision Height Measuring Instrument If you have high expectations and you want to obtain precise measuring results without complicated procedures; then you will find that the Digimar CX2 Digital Height Gage is your perfect partner for the workshop and production line. Just what you expect from Mahr Federal. • Easy handling of the Height Gage via the clearly styled control panel. All important measuring functions can be executed by single key selection. • The motorized measuring head simplifies the measuring task and minimizes the influence caused by the operator. Accurate, reproduceable and reliable measurements are therefore the result. • Easily created measuring programs enable the quick and reliable measuring of serial production components.

2-6

Digimar CX 2 Precision Height Measuring Instrument Features Reliable measuring results are easy to perform The combination of simple operation and motorized measuring head reduces the number of operating steps to a minimum, e.g. for measuring bores: 1. Position probe in the bore. 2. Probe travels up. Find the maximum by manually moving the workpiece. 3. Probe travels down. Find the minimum by manually moving the workpiece. Result: Center and diameter of the bore is simultaneously displayed. Clear and easy to understand. CX2-Operating panel .

Versatile use

Indispensible for serial measuring

The Digimar CX2 Digital Height Gage offers numerous measuring and evaluation functions, e.g.

In order to automate repetitive measuring steps, measuring programs can be easily generated with the teach-in mode function.

• • • • • •

Measuring of surfaces and grooves Measuring of bores and shafts Determination of Max-Min Computation of distances and symmetries Checking the perpendicularity with a Digital Indicator Data output for transmitting measured values to a PC or Statistics Printer for further data processing • Extension of the measuring range to 935 mm with standard accessory • and many more.

Checking of the perpendicularity with Digital Indicator 1082

This makes the checking of small component batches easier and faster. Even complex tasks can be executed by single key activation without the need of a test plan every time. Select between fully automatic or single-step measurement modes.

One-Touch Operation All You Need Are 16 Keys We've pre-programmed all frequently recurring measuring functions into the Digimar DX 1. So taking precise measurements is as easy as touching one of the 16 pictograph keys. It's an especially great convenience when measuring a variety of shortrun workpieces. Here's what happens when you touch each of the 16 keys: • Contacting a surface from above

• Contacting a surface from below • • • •

Contacting a bore from below Contacting a shaft from above Determination of concentricity Determination of the flatness of a surface

• Contacting a bore from above • Contacting a shaft from below • Assessing a bore (center and diameter)

• Assessing a shaft (center and diameter)

• Checking of a groove horizonally (center and width)

• Determination of the center (with taper probes) • Calculating the distance from 2 measurement values • Calculating the center from 2 measurement values

• Setting / selecting the zero point

• Inputing a value via the DX 1 keyboard

• Calibrating the stylus

• Deleting the last measuring value • Deletion of the current workpiece data

• 2D-Measurement

• Completing an input (enter key) • Switching on/off 2 - 11

Digimar. Height Measuring Instruments Mahr Digimar DX 1 control and evaluation instrument: Your key to quick and easy measurement With 16 pictograph keys, an alphanumeric keypad and the ability to connect up to four measuring instruments, the Digimar DX 1 makes both taking measurements and evaluating the results easier than ever before. Frequently recurring measuring tasks, such as determining the center and diameter of a bore, shaft or groove, are as easy as touching a single key. Plain-text dialog boxes, logical menus and easy-to-follow instructions eliminate the need to learn lengthy key sequences. And a variety of measuring record formats – with and without actual-to-nominal deviation – are available for export to any common printer. Plus, you can quickly create custom measuring programs with the easy-to-use learn programming (teach-in mode). This facilitates instrument handling and considerably reduces testing times for mini-series consisting of only a few testpieces. With learn programming, even complex measuring tasks can be executed automatically with the touch of a single key.

The DX 1 contains a data base, in which measuring values and production data such as order number, machine type, etc. can be stored. Data filters enable the selective statistical evaluation of these data in the form of histograms, control charts, and Pareto charts. Digimar DX 1 can also provide its evaluation and statistical functions to other measuring instruments, such as Digimar M 814, Millitron, dial gages or caliper gages. The measuring accuracy corresponds to that of the connected measuring instrument. Alphanumeric keypad gives you even more functions In addition to the 16 pictograph function keys, the Digimar DX 1 alphanumeric keypad allows you to do all of this: • Automatic program run • Program creation with learn programming or standard programming • Entering comments and other text • Administration of program and measuring value files • Statistical evaluation with control charts, histograms, and Pareto charts • Print-out programs, measuring values, and statistical results

Digimar. Height Measuring Instruments Description The Visustat program by Mahr can be used for transmitting the measuring values of one or several Digimar DX 1 instruments to a master computer (PC) where they are stored and are available for statistical evaluations. Furthermore, measuring programs can be transmitted from/to the master computer. If required, measuring programs can even be edited with Visustat. All printers and plotters compatible to Windows can be used for outputting measuring records. By connecting several Digimar DX 1 instruments to a master computer used in quality control, it is possible to plan and perform quality assurance. The data structures of the Digimar DX 1 files are identical to those of the master computer files. The number of measuring programs is only limited by the hard disk storage capacity of the master computer. Up to 40 measuring programs can be stored for one program family. All measuring values of a program family are saved in a common database. The database editor can also be used for "repairing" the database. A similar function is also integrated into the Digimar DX 1.

Visustat: Statistics record

Statistics Up to 6 statistics windows are displayed at the same time. All displays are proportional to the chosen window size, i.e. a whole graphics can be indicated even in case of relatively small windows. Control charts Two charts are indicated: either the mean value chart with the range chart or the mean value chart with the standard deviation chart (sigma chart). If the Cpk value is smaller than 1.0, a warning is displayed and the operator is asked to perform a 100% inspection. In case the cursor is moved in the control chart window, the sample number is shown above the cursor line. If you click the line of a sample, the sample information is displayed in a window and, if desired, a comment can be chosen and saved. Samples to which a comment has been assigned are marked by "C". A table indicating all sample information is printed below the control charts. If the control chart possesses more than 25 samples, only samples with a comment are printed out.

Production data The DX 1 can save production data for each measured value. It is thus possible to sort long-time evaluations by using a data filter. Production data are e.g. order number, customer name, machine type, operator, etc. Up to 5 tables with 50 lines each are available for these data. They are normally entered and chosen via the DX 1, but it is also possible to input them on the master computer. Each program family has its own data tables. If a new family is opened, the data tables of the previous family are set and can be adapted afterwards.
