In Fréjus, history has never waned. Today, roman and medieval heritage form a very prestigious setting where a simple walk through the city offers visitors a 20 century-long story to enjoy. Awarded the «Villes d’Art et d’Histoire» label with its 29 protected Historical Monuments, the city offers a monumental treasure chest for history and art lovers.

Forum Julii the town’s original name was a major roman city, and was the head quartered roman naval operation. Nowadays Fréjus offers visitors a memorable voyage back in time.

It is the only visible Roman port in France and requires a little physical effort and imagination to find it in the heart of the modern city. The Aqueduct to Fréjus crossed approximately 42km before supplying the 34-meter tall water tower, which was the highest point in the city.
