On Thursday 11th December Year’s 5 and 6 are holding the first ever Monks Abbey Primary School Christmas Market. It came about when both year groups had the topic of ‘I love Lincoln’, and learnt about all the history and traditions of Lincoln. As we all know every year before Christmas there is a Christmas Market held around the Cathedral and the Castle in Lincoln. Inspired by this, both years thought that it would be a great idea to hold their own Christmas Market. Over the past few weeks Year 6 have been really busy creating posters and leaflets in Literacy and working out how much it would cost to make certain things, such as Minion baubles and reindeer biscuits. At the Monks Abbey Christmas Market you’ll be able find a variety of arts and crafts, homemade decorations and loads of lovely food. There is also an amazing raffle including lots of fantastic prizes kindly donated from local shops around Lincoln (listed on pages 6 and 7). Enjoy! By Chakarna, Year 6

so, at Monks Abbey it's that time of year where the Christmas Disco comes around! You have a special chance to dress your own Christmas doll ready for her school disco.

The Rockstars!

Sparkle decides to go and see him, and ends up being the Northern star who guides the three wise men to Jesus. He becomes the brightest star in the sky.

The Nativity films are amazing because they are hilariously funny. 'Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger!' has the cast of Marc Wooton as Mr.Poppy, a mischievous teacher who needs a helping hand to become a responsible adult. Also in the cast is David Tennant as the new teacher, and Joanna Page as his wife, who is about to have a baby. I would definitely recommend this particular film to watch at Christmas because it's a heart warming and also wonderfully funny film for all the famiy. By Eleanor, Year 6

Frozen is about two princesses, Elsa and Anna, who live in Arendelle. Elsa finds out that she has winter powers and she tries to hide them, but she does not succeed. When s he be come s Que e n, s he accidentally puts the town in an eternal winter and Anna has to find Elsa and bring her back to stop the winter. Frozen is a brilliant film to watch at Christmas because it is really Christmassy. It is also really incredibly funny to watch and you will want to watch it over and over again and sing along to all of the songs! By Helena, Year 6
