The following papers of M. A. Sociology Semester I, II, III and IV will be in operation from the session 2012-13 onwards. There are five course papers each in I and II semesters and three course papers each in III and IV semesters. Each course paper consists of four credits carrying 50 marks including 10marks for internal assessment. There shall be a four-credit paper consisting of two term papers and another fourcredit seminar paper in the III semester. There shall be two multidisciplinary optional papers in III semester. There shall be a dissertation carrying 100 marks/ 8 credits (Dssertation-50 marks & Presentation-cum-vivavoce-50 marks) in the IV semester. Each course paper will carry four hours of teaching per week. The objective of the course content is to get a ‘text view’ as well as ‘field view’ on topical sociological issues and policy interventions.
