Phi Chi Theta supports an environment where member and chapter participation is recognized and superior performance is rewarded. Congratulations to our 2015-2016 and biennium award recipients. CHAPTER GROWTH AWARD This award is presented annually to a Chapter in each Region that has shown the greatest percentage increase in membership for the year based on membership and initiation reports submitted to the National Office. The winners were presented with a certificate from the National Office and a monetary award. Delta Mu Chapter at University of Texas at Austin Austin TX - Western Region 28.8 % Growth Zeta Xi Chapter at Drake University Des Moines, IA – Central Region 38.3% Growth Zeta Chapter at Boston University Boston, MA – Eastern Region 79.3% Growth Houston Alumni Chapter Houston, TX - Western Region 50% Growth EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AWARD This award is presented to one chapter nationwide annually that exemplifies the spirit of communication and cooperation. This chapter has honored all deadlines set forth in the Calendar of Due Dates and has done an exceptional job in communicating with the National Office. The winner is selected by the Executive Director and will be presented with a certificate from the National Office and a monetary award. Zeta Chapter at Boston University Boston, MA - Eastern Region

CHAPTER PERFORMANCE AWARDS Points are awarded from items completed on the Calendar of Due Dates. The items must be completed and submitted to the National Office by the deadline posted on the calendar in order to receive the points. There are base points and the chapters can also earn bonus points in each category. This point system allows the National Office to rate the efficiency of our chapters and it infuses a healthy spirit of competition between our chapters. The Awards presented at the 2016 National Meeting were based on a chapter performance from 2015-2016. Top chapters in each region were given special recognition. Annual awards include the “Fraternity Spirit & Cooperation Award”, “Business Ideals Award”, “Financial Management Award” and the “Membership Recruitment & Development Award”. “FRATERNITY SPIRIT & COOPERATION AWARD” Points were awarded for submitting documents such as the National & Regional Meeting Reports, Founders’ Day Report, Professional Development Report, National Make a Difference Day Report, submitting IRIS articles and for good communication skills with their Regional Director. Minimum points for recognition in this category: Collegiate (120) and Alumni (160). Chapters receiving special recognition in this category are: • Central Region – Epsilon Gamma (120), Zeta Xi (120), Zeta Beta (155), Delta Xi (160), Epsilon Phi (160) & Zeta Eta (160) • Eastern Region – Zeta Mu (127), Zeta Nu (127), New York Beta (136), Alpha Omega (136) Alpha Iota (137), Zeta Kappa (138) and Zeta Lambda (176) • Western Region – Delta Mu (144) & Delta Chi (158) • Alumni – Western Region – Dallas Alumni (160) The chapter with the highest number of points in this category received the Excellence Award. They are: • Western Region – Beta Theta (159) • Central Region – Alpha Upsilon (175) • Eastern Region – Zeta (197) • Alumni – Western Region – Denver Alumni (180) “BUSINESS IDEALS AWARD” Points are awarded for submitting documents such as the chapter officer list, membership list, calendar, graduate lists, updated Bylaws and conducting officer training. Minimum points for recognition in this category: Collegiate (200) and Alumni (100).

OTHER AWARDS PRESENTED AT THE 2016 NATIONAL MEETING SHIPS LOG & DISPLAY COMPETITION AWARD The Ship log and display competition at the National Meeting is a long tradition of Phi Chi Theta. It is the recording and documentation of the happenings of the chapter in the form of photos of events held and any recognition that the chapter has received during the biennium. The ship log is in book form such as a scrapbook. The display is a visual interpretation. The selection was made by a committee appointed by the National President. The winners were presented with a certificate from the National Office. Ships Log -Collegiate – Zeta Xi Chapter – Drake University Display -Collegiate – Zeta Chapter – Boston University Ships Log -Alumni – Denver Alumni Chapter, Denver, CO ALUMNI HALL OF FAME The Phi Chi Theta Alumni Hall of Fame Award recipient will be selected every other year on the basis of the nominee’s lifetime contributions to the National Chapter and Alumni Chapters and outstanding accomplishments in other professional, honorary, and/or community organizations. Katie Griffin Dallas Alumni Chapter/Life Member ALUMNI MERITORIOUS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD The Phi Chi Theta Alumni Meritorious Achievement Award is awarded to an alumni based on the nominee’s contributions to the local Phi Chi Theta chapter; professional, civic, and career achievements since receiving his/her baccalaureate degree over the past five years. Josh Gabbard Houston Alumni Chapter/Life Member ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD At every National Chapter Meeting, Phi Chi Theta recognizes our most dedicated alumnus or alumna by presenting him or her with the Alumni Service Award. The recipient is selected on the basis of his/her service and support of Phi Chi Theta at the local and/or national level. Their service has to be of such significance that it has had a dramatic impact on a local chapter or the National Chapter. The recipient’s service that qualifies them for this award should span at least 6 months. Nominations may be made by any chapter or any alumni member in good standing. The selection was made by a committee appointed by the National President. The winner was presented with an award from the National Office. Current National Officers cannot be nominated for this award. Russell Hoskin Chicago Alumni Chapter/Life Member

NATIONAL KEY AWARD The Phi Chi Theta National Key Award recipient is selected at every National Chapter Meeting on the basis of the nominee’s contributions to the local Phi Chi Theta chapter; collegiate, civic, and career achievements while attaining his/her baccalaureate (or masters) degree. The nominee must be a recipient of their local chapter’s Key Award. Nominations may be made by any chapter. The selection is made by a committee appointed by the National President. The winner was presented with an award from the National Office. Brian Kuan – Zeta Omicron Chapter Western Region PRESIDENT’S AWARD OF MERIT This award is presented to any individual member in recognition of outstanding service to Phi Chi Theta. The service can be rendered at the local, regional or national level. The honoree is selected by the National President and will be presented with a certificate by the National Office. Nominations will not be accepted for this award. This award debuted at the 2016 National Meeting. Frances Spencer Chicago Alumni-at-Large, Life Member

OUTSTANDING FACULTY ADVISOR OF THE YEAR The Outstanding Faculty Advisor of the Year recognizes a faculty advisor who has achieved an exemplary relationship with the collegiate members of Phi Chi Theta and who has provided outstanding guidance, support and leadership to the chapter.
