F O U RT H S U N DAY O F A DV E N T December 18, 2016 From the Desk of the Pastor: Fourth Sunday of Advent "The virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call Him 'Emmanuel,' a name which means 'God is with us'" Matthew 1:23 Brothers and sister, unfortunately, there are persons who have an empty feeling about life. They characterize our Age as hopeless. They say that if nuclear bombs don't wipe out modern civilization, then environmental pollution will and, anyway, so what! "Aren't we all doomed to extinction the second we are born?" Life for them is nothing more than ... A crust of bread and a corner to sleep in, a minute to smile and an hour to weep in, a pint of joy to a peck of trouble and never a laugh but the moans come double. And that is life! We have come together today to declare that that is not life. We have come together to confirm the Advent message that life needn't be empty for us -- ever! We have come to acknowledge that we are not abandoned. The Spirit of Advent breaks through to soothe our frazzled nerves; to restore our confidence in things to come. Because the Advent message renews hope in God's promise of eternal fulfillment, it recharges our batteries, rekindles our zest for life, reawakens us to the reality that the Coming Kingdom already is being realized in the here and now. Because, in the words of today's Gospel Lesson, "The Virgin was with child, and gave birth to a Son who is called 'Emmanuel,'" we know that God is with us! The Kingdom of God is at hand and we can celebrate Christmas hopefully and joyfully. As the Apostle Paul, has written, "I am sure of this much, that He who has begun the good work in you will carry it through to completion." God, who is with us in Jesus Christ, will finish His work of creation according to plan. God will keep His promise to us of eternal fulfillment, sealed in the blood of Jesus Christ. God's Will "will be done on earth as it is in heaven." There is nothing man or devil can do to thwart it. No evil force, no nuclear holocaust, no environmental disaster, nothing can prevent the ultimate realization of God's plan for our fulfillment in His Kingdom of Love. Our Christian hope is not based on fantasy or wishful thinking. It is based on the message of Advent which informs us that there is a work to be done: God's work. Advent informs us that the Coming Kingdom will be fulfilled according to God's Plan. Advent informs us that we have been commissioned by God to share in the responsibility for carrying that work to completion. Have no fear! God is with us! Christmas is coming

Cuarto Domingo de Adviento 18 de diciembre, 2016 Del Escritorio del Párroco: IV Domingo de Adviento “He aquí que la virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, a quien pondrán el nombre de Emmanuel, que quiere decir Dios-con-nosotros.” Mateo 1:23 Queridos hermanos y hermanas, desafortunadamente, hay mucha gente que sienten que sus vidas son bacías. Viven sus vidas sin esperanza alguna. Los motivos varían, la posibilidad de una guerra nuclear que amenaza destruir la humanidad entera, el resultado de las elecciones recientes que tienen a muchos de nuestro pueblo en estado de alerta, temor y desesperación, el calentamiento global que amenaza traer grandes calamidades naturales, etc., etc. Pero nosotros nos hemos reunido aquí este día para declarar que la vida si tiene sentido. Nos hemos reunido para confirmar el mensaje de adviento que nos indica que nuestras vidas no tienen que estar bacías y carentes de sentido. El Espíritu de Adviento corta a través de nuestros temores y angustias para restaurar nuestra confianza en un futuro mejor. El Adviento renueva nuestras esperanzas en las promesas de vida eterna, recarga nuestras baterías espirituales, revitaliza nuestra pasión por la vida, nos despierta a la realidad que el Reino de Dios está presente en medio de todas las circunstancias de nuestra vida. La palabra del Evangelio de hoy nos proclama que “La virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo a quien pondrán el nombre de Emmanuel, que quiere decir Dios-connosotros.” El Reino ya está con en el aquí y el ahora y que podemos, por lo tanto, celebrar su presencia en esta Navidad con gran alegría. Dios-con-nosotros, terminara su trabajo de acuerdo a lo planeado por su infinita bondad y misericordia. Dios cumplirá su promesa de vida eterna que fue sellada por la sangre de Jesucristo. La voluntad de Dios se cumplirá en el cielo y en la tierra. No hay nada que satanás pueda hacer para desviar el propósito y la voluntad de Dios. Nada podrá prevenir la realización final del plan de Dios en establecer su Reino de paz, justicia y amor. Nuestra esperanza cristiana no está basada en fantasías. Está basada en el mensaje del Evangelio que nos informa que Dios nos ama y que Dios nunca nos abandona. El Adviento también nos informa que tú y yo podemos participar en el establecimiento de su Reino y así encontrar el propósito que nos ha encomendado. Nuestras vidas recobraran su sentido.

Họm này, Phuc Âm lài trính bày chọ tà mọt gọc tích khàc cuà Ngừởi: Chuà Giềsu sinh rà bởi Đừc Màrià dọ quyền nàng cuà Chuà Thành Thàn. Phài chàng thành sừ Màtthều màu thuàn khi đưa ra hai gốc tích khac nhau như thế? Thành sừ Màtthều khọng màu thuàn, nhừng khi trính bày chọ tà hài gọc tích khàc nhàu cuà Chuà Giềsu, thành sừ cọ mọt dung y thàn học. Ngài là ngừởi cọng chính ví trà lài chọ Thiền Chuà nhừng gí thuọc về Thiền Chuà. 2) Các Ngài mau mắn vâng lời Thiên Chúa. Càc Ngài cọ chừởng trính chọ đởi sọng. Chừởng trính ày đước suy nghí ky lướng ví đước thưc hanh nghiếm chính. Đưc Maria khan giư mính đống trinh. Thanh Giusế muốn sọng àm thàm trọng bọng tọi. Nhừng khi nghề biềt thành y Thiền Chuà càc Ngài đà màu màn xin vàng, bọ dở chừởng trính riềng từ, chuyền hừởng cuọc đởi đề thi hành thành y Thiền Chuà. It is designed for all students from public and Catholic schools, grades 9 through 12. All youth from Our Lady of Perpetual Help are encouraged to attend and have a faith filled, fun day.
