DEALER MEET HELD AT COIMBATORE A dealer meet was organized at Coimbatore. 61 dealers including 13 Stock Point Dealers attended the programme. Shri Jaiveer Srivastava, CMD inaugurated the function by lighting the traditional lamp. In his speech he emphasized the support of Tamil Nadu Dealers for better performance of the Division. He also expressed that the dealers were our associates and part of our business. In his speech he explained about the increased Dealer Margin and Transport Rebate extended to the dealers considering their requests. He assured about improving the quality of packing materials. He also explained about the activities of other Divisions, FEDO and FEW. He highlighted about the FRBL Gypsum panels which were used for constructing buildings. He invited the dealers to visit our HO and plants at Cochin to have the first hand information about all the activities undertaken by FACT. Finally he assured product support to the dealers of Tamil Nadu State. Shri P Muthusamy, D(F) in his felicitation address, referred the dealers as our FACT Family members and thanked their contribution for FACT’s achievements. He emphasized on timely acknowledgements in mFms by the dealers so as to get the subsidy in time. Smt. I S Ambika, GM(M) in her presidential address expressed happiness about the sales performance of Coimbatore Zone and Tamil Nadu State. She appreciated the dealers and our

sales team for improving sales of all products. Shri S Muralee Krishnan, DGM (TN) welcomed the dignitaries, dealers and all the participants and the delegates. The interactive session was led by Shri M Anil Raghavan, DGM (FS). He invited the dealers to express their feedback about our product supplies and services rendered to them. Some of the dealers expressed their view and grievances like poor quality of packing materials, pressurized sale of Organic and Bio-Fertilisers and (50%) stocks allotted to SPDs. The dealers requested the management to appoint more SPDs and mini SPDs with lesser security deposits for better service to the retail dealers. One of the dealers requested the management to enhance the Dealer Margin from 2% to 6%. Finally Shri M Anil Raghavan, DGM(FS) gave replies suitably for all the grievances raised by the dealers. He explained that selling of Organic manure and BioFertilisers is part of corporate social responsibility of the Company to clean up the Municipal waste and converting it to valuable compost, thereby improving the soil health condition for sustained agricultural production and he requested the dealers to voluntarily come forward to maximize the sale of Organic and Bio-Fertilisers in the interest of the Farmers and the Nation at large. CMD Visits ASC Coimbatore Shri Jaiveer Srivastava, CMD, visited the ASC/ZO Coimbatore on October 14, 2015. He examined the annual sales turnover and the organizational set up of Coimbatore Zone. CMD advised the staff to keep the premises clean and tidy all the time. He visited the ASC godown and enquired about the quality of packing material and stock availability. He also enquired about the status of repair work proposed by FEDO to correct the drainage and leakage problem prevailing in the ASC godown. CMD advised the depot staff to release the stock on first-come-firstserved basis.

‘PAPANASAM’ RECOMMENDS FACTAMFOS In Tamil Nadu, fertiliser means FACTAMFOS. In the recently released film Papanasam with Kamalhassan as the protagonist, the term FACTAMFOS is used as a synonym of fertiliser. The film which is a remake of the phenomenally successful Malayalam movie Drushyam, is a commercial hit in Tamil Nadu also. In this film the heroine, played by Gauthami, tells the hero to use FACTAMFOS to get good yield instead of wasting time and energy by digging compost pit.

TRAINING CENTRE CONDUCTS PROGRAMME ON SAFETY AND HEALTH

Shri M Sreekumar, GM(PC), inaugurates the training programme on Safety and Health held at Training Centre, Udyogamandal. A statutory training programme on “Safety & Health” for the supervisors of MAH industries was conducted at Training Centre from 7th September 2015 to 28th September 2015. Shri M Sreekumar, GM(PC), inaugurated the programme. There were 33 participants comprising 15 from the three production Divisions of FACT and 18 from neighbouring industries. Faculties of the programme were drawn from Cochin University, Factories and Boilers Department etc., besides internal Managers. The regular training programmes for our employees were conducted as per the schedule.

Skill Development Programmes The inauguration of 22nd Batch of Heavy Equipment Operation course was held at Cochin Division on. Shri K J Jacob, AGM(M)-CD chaired the function. Shri M Velumani, Sr.M(Trg.) & Shri Jamaludeen B, AM(HE) were also present in the function. 22 students joined the course. Shri K J Jacob, AGM(Mech)CD, gave away certificates to the 33 candidates of the 21 st Batch, who

successfully completed the course. 22 nd Batch of IMC course was commenced at a function held at Training Centre. Shri I Mohanan, DGM(Trg.&Dev.), presided. Programme on Advanced Welding Training programme in Advanced Welding course was conducted for the instructors of various Govt. ITIs. This 12-day training was attended by 16 instructors in the first batch, which covered TIG Welding, MIG welding and Sub merged Arc Welding.

NATIONAL TALENT SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS J Sarathchandran, S/o Shri K Jayachandran, AGM(Production), CMD’s Secretariat, has won National Talent Scholarship 2015 conducted by J Sarathchandran National Council of Educational Research and Training. FEDO POISED FOR YET ANOTHER MAJOR CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FEDO has signed an MOU with M/ s. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for undertaking the job of infrastructure projects proposed at various places in India. KVS have appointed FEDO as the construction agency for the construction of School Building, Staff Quarters and associated buildings at Kaduthuruthy in Kottayam Dist., Haveri in Karnataka and Harda in Madhya Pradesh on deposit work of cost plus consultancy charge basis.

Work will be executed at these three places simultaneously. Project cost is estimated to be Rs.15 Cr. for each location. FEDO hopes this project would prove another milestone to reaffirm its capability in handling infrastructure projects amidst tough competition in the market.

NIT - Nagaland Project - A Glance The Project activities at NIT

Nagaland are progressing despite the prevailing unfavorable climatic conditions. Construction activities of academic buildings (5 blocks) and library block are progressing simultaneously. The construction of the boys hostels (2 blocks), staff quarters, external development works, roads and pathways is also underway as per the schedule. FEDO played a major role by developing the venue for NIT Nagaland to organize their first convocation ceremony on 24.08.2015.

FARMER SEMINAR HELD AT OOTY FACT and Department of Agriculture & Horticulture, Ooty, organized a farmers’ seminar at Horticulture Complex, Ooty in order to make awareness on “World Soil Health Day”. Shri Arjunan, MP andShri Gopalakrishnan, MP jointly inaugurated the function.Shri N.Mani, Joint Director of Horticulture, Ooty, welcomed the gathering. Smt. Satya Bhama, Municipal Chairman, Ooty, and Shri Gopalakrishnan, Deputy Municipal Chairman, Ooty, spoke. About 140 Farmers from Nilgiris district participated in the program. Department of Horticulture, Ooty is targeting about 7000 Soil samples to be tested free of cost this year. FACT ISO 9001:2008 RECERTIFICATION FOR FEDO PARTICIPATES IN FEDO has been awarded recertification projects and Infrastructure projects with the of ISO9001:2008 by M/s. DNV GL validity till 2018. FACT participated in the annual Krishi Mela arranged at Mosale Hosanahalli village, Hassan. A beautiful exhibition stall was put up at the krishi mela venue. FACT products were displayed at the stall. Leaflets of FACTAMFOS, FACT Organic, Biofertilisers and gypsum were distributed among the visitors. This one-day event was organized by University of Agricultural Sciences, Hassan, aimed at introducing new agricultural and allied technologies to the farming community. The tragedy of farmer suicide due to failure of monsoon also was taken up to help the farmers raise their confidence level. Thousands of farmers and agricultural enthusiasts visited the mela.

Steps are being initiated in FEDO for the changeover to latest ISO 9001:2015 standards which has to be completed by 31.12.2017. The recent recertification has been achieved by the group effort of all staff and sincere support of top management. In this context it may be recalled that FEDO was the first Project Engineering Consultant in India to be awarded the prestigious international quality certification ISO 9001(1994 revision).

FARMERS’ CONTACT PROGRAMME IN KHAMMAM In connection with World Soil Health Day, a farmers’ contact programme was conducted in various villages in Khammam (Telangana). Shri L. Kishan, SO, along with a couple of field assistants visited about 20 villages. FACT Vigilance Goes on Air In the first effort of its kind, FACT Vigilance tied up with All India Radio during the Vigilance Awareness Week for a special broadcast on the subject of CVC and its Role in Prevention of Corruption. The phone-in programme “Sahayatrika” was aired by AIR Kochi FM 102.3 between 3 and 4 p m on 28.10.15. Shri T.R.Sasikumar, AGM(V) who conducted the Programme gave a brief history of CVC and Role of Vigilance in Public Sector in India. Several listeners of the programme called in to ask queries on the subject of Vigilance in Public Sector. FACT Vigilance is one of the few CPSEs including ONGC and SAIL, to have used mass media to spread the messages of Vigilance during this period. 10
