THE DAYTON REGION Welcome to the University of Dayton School of Law! This resource guide will introduce you to some of the School of Law community members’ favorite restaurants, shopping centers, entertainment venues and other attractions in Dayton and surrounding areas. Midwestern modesty aside: Dayton is one of the most underrated cities in America. Not only is Dayton a hidden gem rich in history, culture and recreation, but the city's accessibility and range of activities are matched only by its affordability. Whether it’s “First Fridays in Dayton,” or lunch at one of Brown Street’s row of restaurants, Dayton is a wonderful place to live. Enjoy the nightlife in the Oregon District. Listen to a concert at City Folk or late night jazz at Gilly's. View an art house flick at the Neon Movies. Hop through local galleries or take in the exhibits at the Dayton Art Institute and the Dayton Visual Arts Center. Experience world-class performances at the Schuster Performing Arts Center and Victoria Theatre. Take off and enjoy the Air Force Museum. If you prefer outside recreation, bike or run along Dayton's many beautiful river bikeways, recreation trails, and riverfront park. The Dayton Dragons, the local minor league affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, have been cited as one of the toughest sports tickets to get in the country. If you have a fix for major league baseball, and just about anything else, Cincinnati is less than an hour away and Columbus is 75 minutes away.
