DANMON NEWSLETTER OCT. 2014

Once again Danmon Asia attended this year’s IBC, which proved to be a great success with more than 55 thousands registrants for the exhibition. IBC is an important global meeting place for everybody engaged in creating, managing and delivering the future electronic media, entertainment technology and content.

Danmon Asia, part of the Dan Technologies Group, exhibited together with its international group members in Hall 8. Also this year many new products and technologies were released and showed at the exhibition, and therefore is the IBC continuously a great opportunity and platform to meet with clients and to visit our partner companies which includes

Editshare, Exir Broadcasting, Genelec, Guntermann & Drunck, Sencore, Sennheiser, NTP Technology, Studer, TC Electronic, Trilogy and Yellowtec. Again this year the Danmon group hosted a daily HAPPY HOUR between 5 pm – 6 pm. This has become an established tradition for both the Danmon Group and our customers.

TC ELECTRONIC SEMINAR TC Electronic Seminar on the Loudness Control standards and technology was organized in Hanoi and Hochiminh City between 24th and 26th September with the attention of some major video broadcasters and authorities in Vietnam.

During the Seminars some major broadcasters namely VTV, VTC, HTV and SCTV, Mr. Walter – International Broadcast Director of TC Electronic outlined some challenges of audio metering and controlling that are faced by the world-wide broadcasters, but at the same time recommended measures

and practical uses in both production and transmission phases in daily work. Thomas also shared his knowledge on how to set different loudness standards for different platforms including Mobile TV, Web-based TV and Terrestrial TV distributions as added value for Vietnamese major broadcasters for their future expansion. In another Seminar at Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), the content was focused on technical terms and international standardizations of ITU and EBU. This was meant to help the authorities to regulate and manage loudness in Vietnam.

Among the highlights of the event was the introduction of the new Loudness meter software – aNorm with advantages including 02 parameters only. The new aNorm is acknowledged to be more intuitive and easier for operators, especially for those who are used to working with video signals rather than audio signals. The Seminar proved a great success with the attention of about 50 key attendants including management, technicians and policy makers in broadcasting.
