Your Idea - Our Drive From concept via design and engineering, to in-house prototyping with test lab, through to mass production, Framo creates cost-optimized, high-quality solutions according to the customer's requirements. The most modern expert systems are used in design, production and quality control: computation programs to optimize gearing parts and gear units, computer-supported production data, as well as process control with computer-controlled evaluation (SPC).

Two-component mixer This drive is used in the field of dental technology. At the push of a button, it automatically doses and mixes two viscous, paste-like substances in the correct proportion and in the desired quantity. The challenge for Framo consists of engineering a successor model that should be quieter and smaller but at the same time doubly as powerful as it predecessor.

Adjustment unit for tractors The adjustment unit evaluates signals from an electronic controller on the tractor and adjusts the desired gear ratio on the tractor by means of the integrated electrical motor with planetary gear via the adjustment unit's output shaft. Electronic system, electrical motor, planetary gear, bevel gear unit and incremental position encoder form a compact unit. The incremental position encoder sends a high pulse count per revolution along with the concurrent processing of the signal and indicates the position of the output shaft via a reference output of its own. Custom Drives Sample Applications Worm gear unit with eccentric shaft for wood working machines For the production of wooden sheets for cabinetry, combination machines for formatting and gluing on borders are used, e.g., in the fabrication of doors, wall and ceiling panels. In doing so, the tools on the machines are very precisely guided and worked with great accuracy. This accuracy is achieved by the use of worm gear units among other things. It serves to adjust tools and can be adjusted by means of an eccentric shaft virtually backlash-free. Thus it contributes to the high-grade quality of the finished product. Worm gear units for motorized motion rails Two extremely low-backlash worm gear units are integrated in this shoulder motion rail. A gear unit raises and lowers the arm of the patient; the second gear unit is responsible for the rotational movement of the shoulder. Thus a movement appropriate to the natural motion pattern of the shoulder is produced. The greatest accuracy is called for with respect to the postoperative movement of the shoulder, as travel proceeds via top dead center. Too great a backlash here would be painful for the patient. In order to preclude this, the gear units are produced with a total backlash of less than 1.5°.

Spindle unit for trailer manœuvering aid

Custom

A manœuvering aid enables a trailer to manœuver without towing vehicle in the narrowest of parking spaces. The manœuvering aid consists of a rotary drive that sets the tires in motion and a spindle drive that moves the manœuvering aid. The spindle unit swivels the entire manœuvering unit onto the trailer's tires. In so doing, the force of the spindle plays a decisive role. Two of these manœuvering aids are employed per trailer.
