CURRICULUM VITAE  American Geophysical Union (AGU) Certificate of Appreciation for his outstanding Contribution to SPA-EPO.  Won the 2006 UCLA Chancellor's Award for best Postdoctoral Researchers (March 2006) for his research into the ionosphere-magnetosphere coupling using GPS TEC data. Out of 1,155 Post-docs at UCLA, 22 were nominated and he was one of 5 awarded the prize. Along with a plaque Dr Yizengaw was awarded a check for $**** dollars.  Won the best student presentation prize at the Australian national URSI conference (17 – 20 February 2004).  La Trobe University postgraduate research scholarship (September 2000 – May 2004)  International postgraduate research scholarship (September 2000 – May 2004)  Cooperative research center for satellite system top-up scholarship (September 2000 – May 2004)  Norwegian state educational stipend fund (August 1996 - August 1998).
