Experience and field of work I worked as an assistant research scientist in the Forestry Research Centre of the Agricultural Research Corporation since January 1981. During the period 1981-1984, I worked as a research assistant scientist in the Land reclamation project in the Northern State, Sudan (a project supported by the International Research Center of Canada IDRC). I worked as a research scientist in the arid zone section of the Forestry Research Centre (tree physiology, water stress, and bioclimatology) till 1992. From 1992 onwards I worked as a research scientist (silviculture, ecology, rehabilitation of degraded drylands, agroforestry and gum production specialist) in Ed Damazin Research Station, Blue Nile State, and as one of the pioneer’s staff who initiated that station. Also as a part-time lecturer in the Faculty of Science University of Khartoum for the period 1985-1988. And in the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Resources University of Sennar for the period 1996-1997.

As resource person to reflect our work and experience related to the promotion of projects for the integrated use of forest land and agroforestry practices in the Sudan. To the Tropical Silviculture Unit now VITRI (Viikki Tropical Resources Institute, Department of Forest Ecology, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry) of the University of Helsinki, Finland, April the first to the end of June 1999. As a research scientist in Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI) of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry University of Helsinki, Finland, 2003-2006. From 2006 onwards, I worked as a research scientist (silviculture, ecology, rehabilitation of degraded drylands, agroforestry and gum production specialist) in Gezira Research Station, Wad Medani including the Blue Nile State eastern region of the Sudan. As a director of Gezira Research Station, Agricultural Research Corporation, Wad Medani for the period May 2012 to December 2012.
