Whoarewe? being the hook that encourages these young people towards our programmes.

We strongly believe that the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation provides a unique environment where young people can build their self esteem and confidence, raise their aspirations and gain new skills and knowledge which helps improve their future education, health and employment opportunities. “I am hugely proud of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and its work as a charity that can help change people's lives. Over the past four years we have created over 1 million sporting opportunities for all sections of our community, developing projects that help tackle some of the country's most difficult and challenging social issues. We work with a wide range of age groups from primary school children and their parents, to older people living in sheltered accommodation. However, young people are at the heart of everything we do with sport and, in particular, football

So much of the work that the Foundation does would not be possible without the support of our Trustees, Tottenham Hotspur Chairman, Daniel Levy, his players and staff and from our partners both within the public and private sectors. I hope that this prospectus gives you a brief insight into the outstanding work that the Foundation and its staff undertake 365 days a year in some of the most deprived areas of North London and will inspire you to work with us so that we can continue to create opportunities that change lives.” Grant Cornwell MBE Chief Executive Officer

"We are proud of the fact that the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation continues to lead the way in the field of sport, health, training and education programming by developing and delivering a wide range of innovative and pioneering projects across London communities and in territories around the world" Daniel Levy Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur

The Foundation’s Education Department works to enrich the lives of young people in our community through educational opportunities and intervention activities. We aim to provide an educational pathway for young people from Key Stage one to Higher Education with the emphasis on helping individuals fulfil their potential. Wherever possible, we work with the families, parents and carers of our young people to maximise the impact of our programmes. Our work does not stop with children, we also deliver parent and carer programmes that aim to re-engage, promote employability and provide skills that improve family life. Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Guys and Goals Men’s Health Programme aims to tackle the gender gap in health by providing physical activity sessions with a health focus for ‘hard to reach’ groups in Haringey, Enfield and Waltham Forest. In 2010, the Foundation launched its first Higher Education programme through a partnership with Middlesex University. The new Foundation Degree in Applied Sport and Community Development strengthens the pathway and increases the opportunity and educational outcomes for young people. Superstars Programme

A fundamental aim at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is to ensure that all of our projects and programmes are inclusive and provide the appropriate opportunities for young people and adults across our local communities. The Foundation creates innovative partnerships with other people focused organisations that are committed to sharing best practice and working together. We believe that partnership work is the only way that we can enable people of all ages and abilities from all communities to fulfil their potential and live within an inclusive society. We are currently working within Equality and Inclusion Partnerships that focus on supporting target groups, namely, people with learning difficulties, disabled people, people who are experiencing mental health conditions and older people. We aim to provide opportunities that enhance people’s development and create life-changing experiences. This is achieved through the role we undertake in actively supporting the equality of opportunity, inclusion and development of people within areas such as Sports and Physical Activity, Education & Training, Transition, Volunteering and Employment.

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation Community Development Team currently deliver a variety of themed programmes that strategically link with national and local government agendas. We deliver over 6500 hours of FREE activities each year, working with over 1500 young people every week across Haringey, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Barnet, Harlow and the District Council of Epping Forest. Young people, who access these programmes, improve their sports skills which help build their self esteem and develop positive attitudes. By engaging young people in a range of constructive activities creates opportunities to get back to education, training and employment and steers them away from potential unemployment, involvement in youth crime and anti-social behaviour. The success of these programmes comes, as a result of working with a wide range of partners, who help us to develop and deliver creative, innovative and engaging programmes and projects for people from our local communities. The Foundation has developed a range of programmes to inspire young people and adults who are not in education, employment or training to take positive steps to fulfil their potential. Enterprise Academy is a Premier League initiative supported by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and bespoke to Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is the ‘You are the Chairman’ section of the project. This provides the participants with examples of real life issues such as setting transfer budgets and choosing sponsorship deals. Enterprise Academy is a programme designed for students in Year 9 to provide an insight into enterprise, business and entrepreneurship. The scheme consists of 10 modules which make up an overall accreditation by the OCR exam board. All units focus on the Football Club to provide an understanding of various aspects of the running of a business. These include organisational charts, customers, customer service, advertising and marketing. The majority of sessions take place in school, however, all groups are invited to White Hart Lane stadium for at least one of their scheduled lessons providing the practical feel to the programme.
