General Objectives of the Course:
The aim of the course is; To teach the interns health care system and organization in Turkey, how evaluate the health status and identfy the health problems of the community, how to design and implement plans for controling these problems, how to promote the health status of the community and the general principles of preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services.
Planned Learning Outcomes and Subordinate Skills Students can; 1
Evaluate and interprit the data about health status of the community Understand the principles of primary care Provide preventive services on the individuals Provide preventive services on the environment Practise occupational health care and safety Plan, implemet and evaluate an epidemiological research

Course content At the end of the course the interns will, 1. Through visits and pracice at the health care facilities will observe, learn and understand the provision of primary health care in the country 2. Experince how to design and implement plans for controling community health problems 3. Experince how to design an epidemiological research in the field, collect, analize and interpret data In order to achieve the above objectives the interns visit and work in family physicians unit, community health unit and assist preventive and curative services at these levels.
In coorperation with the personnel at these units the interns practice clinical work, preventive services, immunization, family planning, prenatal and well child care, school health, environmental health services, first aid and recording systems.
Visit district health directorates, MCH centers, municipality health units and learn the health services at these units.
Visit at least one industrial plant and observe occupational health care services.
Through a senario workshop study, experience how to evaluate community health problems and make plans to overcome these problems.
Plan and run an epidemiological research study in the field.
