Course objectives (learning outcomes)

Students should know how look like world of NGOs sector in eastern countries. Which problem they have and what opportunity they use. There is as well lot of students that want to work in NGO sector it is for them the basic of know-how to get job after studying. In lessons we will have online streaming with some eastern NGOs workers, then student will have opportunity to ask not only about problems and how look like work in their job but as well, about practice for themselves in some eastern NGOs.

Prerequisites

Knowledge

Student has a background knowledge about the polish NGO sector and basic knowledge of political situation in post- soviet bloc.

Skills

Student is able to analyze basic issues connected with international relations in eastern countries. Should also know basic “normal life” problems in postsoviet countries. As well in all topics we will talk about opportunity to write (group task) or participant in some project for volunteers that will be in group.

Course content (topic list) 1. About what we will talk about? Basic terms from NGO world and general political situation in all post-soviet countries. 2. Ukraine after revolution, know is better? 3. Georgia a piece of U.S. in Caucasus region 4. Russia, country where you can be a spy when working in NGO sector. 5. Estonia, from Soviet Union to European Union. 6. Azerbaijan- the land of fire and democracy? 7. Balkans on the way to EU.
