Corvette Expressions 3rd Edition—Volume 121

September, 2016

Hi Members.

Greetings, and welcome to the September issue of Corvette Expressions!

Happy Labor Day and welcome to September! Just as the summer season ends, and the kids head back to school, many car clubs and enthusiasts are having shows and judging events.

The month of August started off quite deliciously for Corvette Express as club members met at Harold’s in Edison on August 6 for some humongous deli sandwiches. (Thank goodness for doggie bags!) Be sure to check out the pictures (thanks Lynn S.) beginning on page 5.

This year, the Corvettes at Carlisle show took on a different feel. Large vendors were not selling, or even taking orders, due to new Penn state regulations requiring licenses and tax collection. Project and restoration work is down as private, and small vendors were struggling and leaving early. Show attendance was down, as well as overall club participation and Corvette market values. But have no fear, due to clubs like ours, national organizations like NCRS, and the solid American icon status that is Corvette, I'm confident the " hobby" will endure. After all, the Corvette still remains the number one most insured collector car and America's only true sports car ! Let's continue to keep the hobby alive by doing what we do best. Get our cars out, grow our membership, and support other clubs doing the same.

The club’s monthly vette-together at the Fireside had been changed from the first Monday of the month due to inclement weather, so members met on August 8 for some great food and drinks. As always, thanks to Lynn (Corvette Nanny) Earhart. Wall Stadium was the destination on August 20 as club members, led by Bill Nagle, met for a fun day at the track and to display their beautiful vettes. Some local celebrities were on hand for autograph signing, and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Joe G. and Howard F. for the pictures (pg. 7.) The final club event of the month was a cruise to the Chatterbox, featuring vintage cars and awesome burgers. Thanks to Bill Nagle for organizing the trip, and to Donna for the pictures (pg. 8.)

Hope to see you all at the next meeting, Wednesday, 9/7/16.

See you at the next meeting. Lisa Force Newsletter Editor

Yours in Corvettes, Rob Lombardi
