Background CN4C is a community based neighbourhood regeneration company working with some of the most deprived communities in Cornwall. Our vision is: Challenge to Change. We run a range of community services both from our state of the art centre, The Elms in Redruth and in community venues across other towns in Cornwall. Role This role will manage The Elms as a Community and Social Enterprise Centre and will coordinate CN4C’s delivery of The Engine Room start up social enterprise support programme. As Centre Manger you will have oversight of all aspects of the facility and manage the staff who run it. As programme lead you will provide bespoke support on business planning, finance, fundraising, policies, procedures and development to people seeking to set a social enterprise or go into self employment. You will contract manage the ERDF programme and work in partnership with the other Engine Room providers and the accountable body. The post holder will be a robust and confident professional, experienced in managing competing demands. You will enjoy working with and be able to communicate with a very broad range of people. You will lead your team in maintaining a culture of inclusivity and high quality and safe environment for all Centre Users.

You will possess excellent administrative and organisation skills, excellent knowledge of business management and preferably hold an adult teaching or advice and guidance qualification. Main Tasks Centre Manager ·

Responsible for the overall management of the Social Enterprise and Community Centre premises and its assets

·

To maintain a healthy and safe environment for all, carrying out and annual H&S audit and creating an action plan with the Assistant Centre Manager

·

To manage a team of support staff and associated contracts and to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively

·

Oversight of lease documentation for the premises and manage the timely renewal of the said leases

·

Oversight of premises asset register

·

Responsible for maintaining and renewing insurance and administering any claims

·

Management of The Centre income and expenditure budget

·

Lead marketing of The Elms and CN4C services, ensuring that the corporate image is further developed and maintained

Social Enterprise Services ·

Market and publicise Engine Room services and recruit for all activities

·

Respond to initial enquiries, complete initial business diagnostics and refer them to in house advisors or externally as appropriate for specialist support.

·

Manage a portfolio of social enterprises and undertake an initial diagnostic assessment

·

To monitor progress of participants and support them in the development of their enterprise or progression to self-employment. 2

To design and implement an activities programme of supportive learning for social enterprises.

·

Manage relationships with the Accountable Body and other Engine Room partners

·

Maintain records, database and manage the submission of financial and outputs claims to the accountable body.

·

To manage the Engine Room budget

·

Adhere to sponsor (ERDF) and Engine Room’s systems and guidelines to ensure contractual compliance and assist in the development and operation of an effective system of monitoring and evaluation of the whole Engine Room programme.

Must work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Undertake any appropriate training as required by the Company. Whilst the job description covers the main duties and responsibilities of the post, it is not exhaustive. The post holder is therefore expected to undertake any other reasonable duties specified by their Line Manager. Appropriate training will be provided where necessary.
