Slack Rope Operation
1 General operation The conveyor trip switch facilitates stopping the conveyor, in the event of an emergency from any point along the entire length of the conveyor, giving safety to physical harm and mechanical damage. Standard Belt Operation The conveyor trip switch, is a safety switch that has a pretension device which allows the trip wire to be tensioned. When a pull is exerted to the trip wire, the yellow flag falls 90˚ and mechanically locks out the control circuit contact block. To reset the switch, the flag must be reset by hand. The conveyor trip switch is available in single-end or double-end options.

The conveyor trip switch with Slack Rope feature has a pre-tension device which allows the trip wire to be tensioned and sets the Slack Rope control circuit contact, to indicate that the trip wire is tensioned correctly. When a pull is exerted to the trip wire, the yellow flag falls 90˚ and mechanically locks out the Safety Trip control circuit contact. To reset the switch the flag must be reset by hand. The conveyor trip switch is available in single-end or double-end options. Select Criteria Distance between two Conveyor Belt Trip Switches must not exceed 100 metres however they may be less. Depending on the length of exposed area and type of switches required, you may require only 2 single end conveyor safety switches or combination of double and single end conveyor safety switches.

Conveyor belt ripped/torn switch
1 General Operation The conveyor belt ripped/torn trip switch is used in conveyor systems to provide a fail-safe stop mechanism for torn or ripped conveyor belts. The Rip Switches are typically installed just after loading points where belts are more likely to develop
tears or rips and at 300m intervals on longer conveyors. Once activated these switches isolate the control circuits of the motors driving the conveyors and other process equipment.

Conveyor belt ripped/torn switch
Application Requirement
1
Two belt rip switches are required, one on either side of the belt. Between the two switches is a wire rope with two forked keys at either end, which attach to each rip switch. The ripped belt or
debris protruding through the belt activates the wire rope spanned below the belt in strategic zones of high risk to ensure quick detection limiting damage to the belt and associated equipment.
