Continuing Education This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and the International Society of Hypnosis. The Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 44.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Learning Objectives After attending this conference, participants will be able to: ! Describe appropriate applications of hypnotherapy in their specialty area of medicine. ! List the findings of recent Cochrane reviews of hypnosis as a tool in pain management. ! Describe applications of hypnotherapy as adjunctive treatment for major depression. ! List hypnotic methods in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
