Company History The state–owned enterprise, Elektrizace eleznic was established in 1954 as an off–shoot of the company Elektromontá ní závody Praha. From the very beginning, the company specialised in railway line electrification in what was then Czechoslovakia and abroad, and the related development, construction and assembly of overhead contact line systems. Overhead contact line equipment for public city transport systems was subsequently added to the company's production program. 1992 was a turning point for the company, as it was privatised and transformed from a state - owned enterprise into a privately owned joint stock company, with Elektrizace dopravy, spol. s.r.o. (62.2%) and the Czech Rep. National Property Fund (37.8%) as its main shareholders. After the successful completion of the privatisation process in 2004 the new 100% owner of the company became Elektrizace dopravy, spol. s.r.o. A quality management system corresponding to ISO standards, which has been continually up–dated, was introduced in the company shortly after its transformation. The company currently holds ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001 certificates, including the OHSAS 18001 certificate. Elektrizace eleznic Praha a.s. has expanded its range of products and services, with the most important additions being comprehensive high voltage electrical technological systems, and the production of steel construction. This has lead to the company achieving its position as a significant supplier in the transportation infrastructure market.

Overhead Contact Lines (OCL) 25 kV/50 Hz AC and 3 kV DC for Czech Railways OCL for main tracks for speeds up to 200 km/h (heavy traffic lines with higher speeds) – automatically tensioned catenary line with auxiliary wire OCL for side tracks for speeds up to 120 km/h (e.g. sidings) – automatically tensioned catenary line Simple OCL for speeds up to 90 km/h (for side tracks with low traffic, for railway stations, for tracks with many curves and superelevations, for shunt rails) – simple automatically tensioned OC line, in straight railway sections and in curves with large radius supplemented with suspension wire Inclined OC lines for curves with small radius for speeds up to 100 km/h (for side tracks) – automatically tensioned The overhead contact line is installed on individual or group supports (masts, portals or, exceptionally, headspans). Steel masts and structures are metallized and, optionally, provided with a protective paint. Power supply is carried out from independent feeding points (converter station, traction transformer station for 25 kV). Parallel line feeder suspended on OCL supports is used to increase conductive cross–section.
