International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Workshop

Consolidation Workshop

IFRS Change and Importance Originally conceived in 1973, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is now a necessity in the wake of globalization and the contemporary business setting. IFRS not only has importance in accounting but has become the widely accepted international ‘language’ in financial reporting with a much larger global role.Already adopted in the European Union and recognized in the United States, each year witnesses more countries are adopting IFRS and this adoption has seen an increase in convergence within the Middle East and North Africa region. Since many countries and companies have already adopted IFRS, it is undoubtedly in the best interest of corporations with international reach to have in-depth IFRS insight and know-how. While adopting IFRS does have its challenges, the benefits outweigh the obstacles as it makes reporting more internationally standardized and transparent and facilitates work with other corporations around the world. In the wake of this booming and critical change, Morgan International is hosting a three (3) day IFRS workshop and three (3) day Consolidation workshop that provides participants with a deeper insight into the complexities of IFRS theory, to better understand its principles and measures.

Workshop Objectives • T he primary objective of these workshops is to provide participants with immediate practical knowledge on critical IFRS standards from principle to application • T he workshops are supported by numerous exercises and case studies for better understanding and application of those principles and practices. The nature of these workshops will equip participants with the required theoretical knowledge and handson techniques to confidently deal with and apply IFRS concepts, hence driving their organization to the next level. 22
