PROGRAM OVERVIEW The disability sector is going through a dynamic period of change driven by the commencement of DisabilityCare Australia (NDIS) launch sites across Australia. Whilst DisabilityCare Australia is unequivocally a major milestone that will lead to vastly improved outcomes for hundreds of thousands of Australians with disability, their families and carers, it also presents substantial challenges for service providers. The ‘Inform, Inspire and Implement…sector readiness for DisabilityCare Australia Conference’ will be presented through a program that includes presentations, practical advice and lively discussion around sector readiness for DisabilityCare Australia and current information on launch sites. The Conference will include addresses by national identities and speakers of note including Mr David Bowen, Chief Executive, National Disability Insurance Agency; Mrs Vicki O’Halloran, President of National Disability Services; Dr Ken Baker, Chief Executive, National Disability Services; Mr Jeff Moffet, Chief Executive Officer, Department of Health; and Professor David Gilchrist, School of Accounting, Curtin University. These addresses will be complemented by more targeted sector readiness sessions for organisations that will be operating in the new DisabilityCare Australia environment. Further information on the conference program will be provided upon registration.
