Art. 4 Characteristics of the artwork Pieces of artwork will be accepted on CDROM in the following format: TIF, JPG or PDF. Resolution: 150 dpi. Files created with image processing programmes, such as Photoshop, can be submitted in the following format: TIF, JPG or PDF. Furthermore, such files:  must be reduced to a unique background level  must not contain Alpha compositing  must not contain traces of clipping paths TIF Files:  must be reduced to a unique background level  must not contain Alpha compositing  must not contain traces of exemption  must be saved without having been compressed, with Interleaved pixel order JPG Files:  only use Standard JPG format (for example, exclude the JPG 2000 version)  save with maximum quality and Baseline (Standard) PDF Files:  must correspond to the PDF/X-3:2002 Standard version. Please also note: the PDF version must be 1.3  transparencies will not be accepted The winning project will be printed and distributed with institutional logos of both the ARCI Comitato Territoriale Firenze and Unipol Assicurazioni - Assicoop Firenze S.p.a, making sure to protect the graphic characteristics of the artwork. The competition wants to distance itself from unreal, though for some time stereotypical images, that accentuate the woman as a victim and that focus too much on the aspect of physical violence (a beaten woman, angry man, bruises, ropes, chains, flowers, mirrors). Therefore, favour will be given to artworks that take on the theme by trying to identify useful mechanisms and instruments to deconstruct every type of violence and allow women to reclaim their freedom, with courage and determination, thus asserting their own individuality. Art. 5 Requirements for participation Participation in the competition is free of charge, without restrictions of qualification or nationality Participants can take part individually or as part of a group. Participation in the competition is reserved for persons (or groups) aged between 18 and 40 years at the time the competition closes. Each participant can take part: • individually with a single piece of artwork • collectively with a piece of group artwork Art. 6 Participation procedure and deadlines The parcel must contain – under penalty of exclusion – two envelopes: - ENVELOPE “A” – “DOCUMENTS” - ENVELOPE “B” – “ARTWORK PROJECT” The closed envelope with the sole text “A – DOCUMENTI” must contain: 1. a fully compiled participation application form (attachment 1) with the relevant personal details and declaration to agree to the competition terms and conditions, signed by the participant. Whereby the applicant is a group, one person must be nominated as representative; a group of 2

participants will have the same rights as an individual participant and each will be recognised as a creator of the artwork. There is a declaration in the participation application form that states that the artwork is original and unpublished. There is also a consensus for the handling of personal data in accordance with Legislative Decree 196/2003 and subsequent modifications; 2. a photocopy of a valid form of identification; The closed envelope with the sole text “B - PROGETTO GRAFICO” must contain: 1. An anonymous CD-ROM containing the artwork that follows the instructions outlined in the section “Characteristics of the artwork” The closed parcel, without sender details, must be sent to the Arci Comitato Territoriale di Firenze by no later than November 10th 2015, to the following address and with the following caption: Concorso “A_ZERO VIOLENZA” – terza edizione Arci Comitato Territoriale di Firenze Piazza dei Ciompi 11 50122 Firenze The parcel can be submitted by hand or sent by registered post. In the case of sending by post, the parcel must be received by the aforementioned date, not posted by that date. In any case, no applications will be accepted for any reason after the aforementioned deadline. Application forms that are incomplete and/or missing items, information or required documents will be excluded. Art. 7 Waiver of copyright Participants surrender the reproduction rights to the competition organisers for hard copy and digital publication or for any other form of communication that is deemed appropriate even outside the confines of the competition, thus renouncing any related proprietorial rights. Art. 8 Selection The artworks submitted will be examined by a dedicated judiciary commission, composed of:  a representative from ARCI Comitato Territoriale Firenze  a representative from Unipol Assicurazioni - Assicoop Firenze s.p.a.  a representative from the Il giardino dei ciliegi Association  a representative from the C.R.E.T.E Association  a representative from the Artemisia di Firenze Association  a representative from the Azione Gay e Lesbica Association  an expert from the graphics and social communication field The commission's judgement is incontestable. Whereby none of the submitted applications satisfy the commission's requirements, the latter reserves the right to not opt for any of the applications. The fundamental criteria for selection will be relevance to the competition theme, simplicity and immediacy of the message, graphic research, originality and innovation. Art. 9 Reasons for exclusion Any application that is received after the deadline (the postmark date is not valid) or that is incomplete and/or missing items, details or required documentation will be excluded from the competition. Any person who is involved in the organisation of the competition, and in particular in the jury and administrative office, will be excluded. Furthermore, persons who have a record of violent behaviour will be excluded. Artworks that are considered offensive or contrary to the principles of non-violence and civil cohabitation which are the foundation of the project, will be excluded. Art. 10 Prize The winning application will be rewarded with the printing and publication of the poster in ARCI Florence's member associations. The creator (or group of creators) will receive an iPad as a prize. Second and third places will receive a plaque. The Award Ceremony will take place at the public event “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women” on November 25th in Florence. 3

At the end of the competition, all applications received will be exhibited in a Web Gallery dedicated to the competition that will be set up on the website www.arcifirenze.it. All artworks received, including the winning entries, can furthermore be used thereafter in the production of posters, fliers, catalogs or other material. The competition organisers will become the sole proprietor of all received artworks and will acquire all exploitation rights recognised by law for creative works. All artwork creators will be rendered sufficiently identifiable and recognisable. Art. 11 Administrative Secretary The administrative office for the competition is located at the Arci office, Piazza dei Ciompi 11, in Florence. The staff working in this office are responsible for receiving, cataloging and consigning all submitted artworks and their relative paperwork to the commission. The commission, the body responsible for ensuring the correctness of the competition procedures, has the right to declare any participant or artwork as excluded from the competition due to lack of required material, incompatibility or lack of respect for the participation process, as required by the terms and conditions of the competition. The commission therefore reserves the right to carry out (or to delegate to the administrative secretary to carry out) checks on the requirements or on the participant's compatibility: this is carried out in such a way that guarantees respect for privacy. Art. 12 Publication of terms and conditions, results and award ceremony Details of this competition, published in an appropriate manner, are available to download, together with the necessary paperwork to participate in the competition, from the website www.arcifirenze.it. The winner will be notified at the address indicated on the participation application form. The competition results will be published on the website www.arcifirenze.it. The award ceremony will take place at the public event “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women” on November 25th in Florence. Art. 13 Terms and Conditions Agreement Participation in the competition implies complete and unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions herein, in all of its articles and related declensions. By participating in the competition the contestants give their full consent with regards to the handling of their personal information in accordance with the Legislative Decree 196/2003 and in fact attach, under penalty of exclusion, the signed release, contained in the application for participation, as indicated in the terms and conditions herein. Art. 14 Informative on the handling of personal information. Each participant expresses, in accordance with Law 675/96 of the Legislative Decree 196/03, consent to handle and communicate his/her personal details, within the limits of and purposes of the Competition. Personal details are recorded and further used as required for the purposes of the management of candidate participation in this competition as well as in any initiative connected to same. Full respect for legislation no. 45/2001 (CE), concerning the protection of physical persons in relation to the handling of personal details by institutions and community bodies, as well as the free circulation of said details, is guaranteed. Personal details are recorded and kept for as long as they are to be of use in the management of the various activities relating to the participation in the competition. The legal representative of ARCI Comitato Territoriale Firenze is the person who is responsible for the handling of said data.
