The saw can be tractor mounted on both sides. This allows the operator to easily and comfortably adjust his position to equally perform cutting of wood panels and beams of cutting through round logs.

Standard equipped with outlet spout for trouble-free filling of pallets and containers up to 1.25 m (4 ft) high. This arrangement efficiently replaces the belt conveyor that would be excessive for such limited filling levels.
The cutting length is adjustable from 25 to 50 cm by means of a special sliding stop (square tube) that can be moved to any position and fastened by means of a practical spring pin.

Heavy logs are loaded on the log carriage (a rugged H-beam) by simply rolling them up the lateral riffled plate. The log carriage design and the special hands-free controls allow splitting of the log without need for any manual adjustment. The special inline-construction makes for quick and fluent split-
ting of whole log bunches without any second person‘s help. Split wood splays out on ground where it can lay till end of work. The hammer mill principle: the core of this machine is an engineered rugged hammer mill drum with 30 staggered flails very easy to access and replace for maintenance.
A chipping knife is built into the 6 mm thick disc provided at the lateral infeed hopper. This system allow very fast and simple replacement of dull blades.

Stand-alone, one-man, self-contained piece of equipment. Cut off operation of logs up to 30 cm Ø is controlled by one man tilting the log carriage over against the saw with very little effort. Logs that drop into the splitter automatically switch on the push block feeding the logs straight against the outlet wedge and splitting them in 2, 4 or 6 pieces depending on which type of wedge is used. Logs are loaded and fed to the blade on a tilting cradle designed with a suitable gradient to provide a firm log support and to muscle the log effortless to the blade. When the tilt-cradle is released and opened, the log can be manually advanced by the operator to start a new cycle. Each piece dropping into the splitter trough automatically starts the push-block (hydraulic ram) that feeds the log out through the wedge. Sawing/cutting and splitting operations are controlled by two separate, very fast, automatic systems, so that one single man can easily handle up to six cords per hour (depending on logs size and diameter) with no need for further ancillary tools and equipment. ■■ Optional PTO shaft available on request (Code no. 95060)

SSA 310 EZ/4 is equipped with a standard telescopic belt conveyor included in price. The conveyor is made up of 2 sliding sections and is operated by means of a gear rack and crank lever. This is a very comfortable, safe and ergonomic operation.
Three pulse generators use a magnetic field to control the system and drive the splitter ram back and forth or to stop it.
A flipping plate is attached on the tilt-carriage of the saw unit to help directing the log when rolling down into the splitter after cutting. This system assures safer and exact dropping of the log into the log cradle in the splitter so that no hands reaching into the splitter work area are required.
The core of the machine Special auto-cycle control valves are available so that the splitter automatically completes forward and return stroke. Moreover, autocycle controls include auto-switching of the machine to double splitting force and less speed, when more pressure is required for splitting hard wood logs.
The electromagnetic SPS controls by Siemens are safely built inside a special casing located on the opposite side than operator station. Electronic operation hours counters also available on each machine.
The machine is available with 2, 4 or 6 ways wedges to allow sticks of firewood to be produced in a single cycle. Wood debris, saw dust, wood and bark chips are cleared through a special drop-through grate located in the splitter trough yielding a cleaner final product.

The machine has got automatic and manual operation mode. Switching from one mode to the other is easily done by means of control buttons located on the saw-carriage in hand-reach position. A red stop button assures immediate return of the splitter ram in case of an eventual emergency event.

■■Highly performant compact saw mill,
can be used both as a stationary and a portable equipment. This mini saw mill will match nearly any capacity and application requirement. Numerous accessories, including but not only the swivelling lifting crane, make set-up and installation easy (a front loader or a fork lift are required). Noble wood as pear, apple, cherry and walnut trees are often available in short, knot free stems up to 1.5 m long. BGU log band saws are purposely made for this application. Differently than with other frame saws, band saws allow clamping of the wood. So, the saw moves to the firmly clamped stem. As for normal metal cutting band saws, this machine is made of a bimetal. The standard BBS 500 is supplied with Type II blades. This ensures top accuracy whilst a time-consuming and technically demanding job as grinding and cutting of the teeth is no longer required.

The bagging system is consisting of a set of 2 sliding trays and support rails suitable for two bags so that non-stop filling can continue in one bag while the other one is being replaced.
The size of the kindling sticks is adjustable by means of an adjustment screw to obtain thicker or thinner kindling depending on your requirements.
The magnetic sensors are adjustable through the special slots and provide for accurate sensing of the wedge forward and backward travel to/from the end stop.

Vertical log splitters Hands-free system. Available also on our Universal Vertical Splitters 13 t, 16 t and 22 t. An upper handle is located on the left-hand side of the frame and used to secure the log centrally under the wedge. At the same time another handle on the right-hand side is pushed down to control the cylinder valve. The upper handle on the left side has a holding and a control function. The ram stroke can be adjusted to a longer/shorter one by means of the two self-locking nuts with black knob located on the ram control rod.

timber loading technology / grapples Within a state forest management programme, Germany has conducted a second count showing that the Nation’s forests are enormous and growing. Wood is a renewable energy resource, meaning it can be used forever for a wide range of different applications without depleting the earth. Because of its high sustainability and profitability, fuel wood has become a raw material largely in use and handled by a large number of private small/medium size private contractors. For this reason efficient and versatile loader/grapples technologies are a very important sales argument. Time-saving and efficient are mandatory qualities of all heavy-duty equipment. Attaching a log grapple for handling your timber without ever getting off your tractor is an optimal work method. Thanks to a solid work table it is possible to accommodate (in horizontal position) longer workpieces for end-feed grinding.
Grinding dust, chips and sparks caused by contact wheel revolutions are efficiently and safely cleared away from the work area through the spout.
The motor is directly screwed on the belt guard leaving no gap between guard and motor flange. Tension of the belt can be adjusted at wish by means of a single lever control.
Belt tracking is very quickly done with no need of ancillary tools or instruments by just turning the special black knob on one side of the contact wheel. This system is very time saving and meanwhile assures perfectly safe belt operation even with 150 mm wide belts. Patented belt tracking system. Patent Nr. 4131523
An outlet spout with builtin collector provides for a clean workplace. The outlet spout runs beneath the entire grinding belt length assuring efficient removal of dust and chips that are safely disposed inside the special in-built box. PATENTED system. Patent Nr. 0399155.

An ergonomic, very comfortable vice clamp lever (eccentric) makes it possible to rapidly and firmly hold the workpiece.
