OHSCARE has provided Occupational o a Health ea t Se Services ces to the mining industry and private te sector clients since 2001 We pride ourselves on our customer mer service levels and strive to adapt to meet the specific pecific requirements of each individual client. Our primary focus is to provide on-site mobile services that hat minimise the loss of production and logistical inconvenience caused when employees are re sent to external clinics. Our comprehensive service ensures compliance with legislation gislation and all requirements with regard to the medical screening process are met on n completion of medical examinations. In addition to minimizing man-hour loss and maximising production time we further contribute to our clients’ efficiency by providing ng reports, certificates and data that enable our clients’ to keep a complete and current rent occupational health database.

MILESTONES

2001

Sister Noleen Ackermann founds the successful family-run business in 2001 and establishes the Barberton branch.

2005

In response to increased demand in metropolitan areas, a branch in Johannesburg is opened in 2005.

2007

Construction at the Moses Mabhida Soccer Stadium in Durban motivates the establishment of a third branch in Durban in 2007.

2013

In the six years leading to 2013 the he company sees consistent growth and a yearly increase of 20% in annual turnover.

CLIENTS OHSCARE supports the mining industry and major construction & building sites throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries with a comprehensive range of Occupational Health Services. We are the appointed Occupational Health Service provider for 15 mines across Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West Province (gold, manganese, lime, anthracite, diamond, nickel, uranium and coal mining). In (insert year) Anglo Platinum Health at Modikwa Platinum Mine (Burgersfort) subcontracted OHSCARE for 18 months, during which we operated the medical surveillance programme and undertook approximately 1400 medical examinations per month.

SERVICES The three OHSCARE branches, located in Johannesburg, Barberton and Durban provide services to a broad spectrum of clients. OUR BRANCH CLINICS offer initial, periodical and exit medicals conducted d on a smaller scale.

OUR MOBILE ON-SITE Occupational Health Services cater for larger numbers rs and include the Full Medical Examination (initial, periodical or exitt and the Height Medical Examination. Our mobile fleet includes es five occupational health units and two x-ray units. With the co-operation on of our clients these units have the capacity to conduct between 70-80 -80 full medicals or 100 height medical examinations on site per day. We also offer a selection of tests and administrative services.

The Full Medical Examination (initial, periodical or exit): • Occupational and Medical history documentation • Height, weight, blood pressure and urine analysis • Lung function test (FEV1, FVC and FVC %) • Vision screening (Snellen eye test); • Audiometric screening (Tremetrics RA300) Baseline/screening audiogram - for employees exposed to noise above 85dB a baseline (2 audiograms) audiogram is required • Physical examination; • Large chest X-Ray (digital & conventional); • Special Titmus vision test (colour, depth perception, n, peripheral vision and visual acuity) can be performed ed on drivers and operators of heavy machinery.

SERVICES Cont The Height Medical Examination (Risk Driven): Medical examinations required for people working at height in the construction industry are undertaken in accordance with the relevant regulations. More information is available on request.

Additional Services: We also offer the following, either as separate services or add-ons to full medical examinations: • Biological monitoring; • Cannabis testing (dagga); • HIV testing; Assistance with the compilation of annual reports for the DME; and submission of occupational diseases.

Administration & Documentation: • In addition to medical reports and certificates of fitness, a report containing feedback, recommendations ations and relevant data (statistics) is issued after completion of all medicals. • Medical fitness identification cards can be provided to enable visual identification of employeess with restrictions on site. • An electronic database is set up in conjunction tion with the clients’ HR and Safety departments. s. All data recorded by OHSCARE is e-mailed to o clients enabling them to keep a current database base of their Occupational Health issues.
