Projects Industrial Units Industrial Unit, Rassau, Blaenau Gwent Upgrading & refurbishment of existing factory including demolition of original & re-building of high spec ground floor & 1st floor offices and toilets. Mechanical & electrical upgrading including Fire & Intruder alarms. The external fabric of the building was replaced purpose made remote control roller shutter doors fitted.

Llanover Business Park, Llanover, Monmouthshire New Build – Construction of two office units in local stone Refurbishment & Alterations – Old stable block into three self contained offices, old estate offices and workshop into five offices. Fitting Out – Of one new building into four separate units

Factory Conversion IQE Internal fit out of Clean Rooms with controlled environment working. A fast track project converting an existing factory into a large clean rooms facility for the manufacture of a sensitive product using toxic substances. The team also installed two reactors, blast walls, road systems and car parking.

Projects Cont…… Commercial Daniels Shop, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent External refurbishment of 3 storey commercial premises. The project consisted of hacking off & re-rendering all external elevations with colour through special coating. Replacement colour coated aluminium windows protected by roller shutter blinds which where fitted to all elevations. The roof was stripped, the timber work overhauled & reslated. All works to this premises were carried out whilst the premises was occupied and continued to trade.

Ex Service Mans Club, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent All works were carried out whilst the club continued trading and the 1st floor living quarters were occupied. The external render to all elevations was hacked off & rerendered with colour through special coating. All windows on both floors were replaced with colour coated aluminium windows. Roof coverings were removed, timbers overhauled & a new slate covering installed. A state of the art steel & glass entrance was constructed with electronic signage and all associated external works.

Health Care

Llanarth Hospital, Llanarth, Monmouthshire Construction of a new build rehabilitation bungalow in the grounds of Llanarth Court Hospital. This timber framed building was finished in stone and render. The five en-suite bed roomed property incorporated a central lounge and kitchen area. The building incorporated an alarm calls system and fire detection service. A road system and gardens were constructed to link in with the surrounding layout of the grounds.

Projects Cont…… Health Care Continued St Lukes Hospital, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent Conversion of ex-miners valleys long stay hospital to 36 en-suite bedroom private hospital facility for clients with mental health issues. The vast majority of the internal structure of the building was demolished, strengthened and completely reorganized. Mining tunnels were filled & made structurally sound. Design & construction have paid great attention to the security & safety of it’s clients, reaching the core standards level. Two secure garden areas and car parks have been constructed as external works

Bronllys Hospital, Bronllys, Powys 3 on call staff bungalows were constructed in the grounds of Bronllys Hospital, Powys. Constructed traditionally in block & render, external works consisted of landscaping, driveways & road infrastructure and services.

Women’s Refuge New build traditionally built bungalow with 5 ensuite bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, road system, gardens & secure entrance gates.

Projects Cont…… Local Authority Resource & Information Centre, Crickhowell, Powys This project consisted of constructing a Two Storey traditionally stone built Tourist Information & Resource Centre with Public Conveniences. This property is located on a very restricted town centre site. Anthony A Davies Construction Ltd were shortlisted for this project for the Building Inspectors Award 2007 for this category of building in Wales

Maybury House, Cwmbran, Torfaen Refurbishing of 6 existing flats. External work included cladding in insulating boards and coating with colour through system. All windows were replaced with colour coated aluminium windows. The specially designed roof was coated with colour coated steel sheets. New bathrooms & kitchens were fitted and individual heating systems were updated. Asbestos was removed in line with HSE guidelines to allow work to commence. External works consisted of brick walls, paths & railings.

Before The Hafod, Swansea Envelope Scheme for 2 streets which involved hacking off and re-rendering all properties, fitting new windows & external doors. All houses were re-roofed and chimneys were re-built. New stone walls were constructed. All the properties were occupied during the work and there was close liaison with tenants and the clients by the site agent.

Projects Cont…… Listed Buildings / Barn Conversions Cwm Bwchel, Llanthony This Grade II listed barn was refurbished, extended and converted into a two bed roomed stone built property with en-suite shower rooms, lounge, kitchen and boot room. The domestic water and central heating system were (energized) by ground source heat, a system Anthony A Davies Construction is very familiar with. The extensions to the property included extensive stone walling and stone flagstone patios and paths

Goytre Farm Barn Conversion of a Grade II listed barn into an art workshop, lounge, kitchen, 4 bedrooms including a loft bedroom and bathroom using modern environmentally friendly materials. Innovative modern design elements including a suspended globe fire, glass walls and space saving stairs These materials included Lambs wool Insulation, Clay boarding, horsehair plaster, copper guttering & downpipes & second hand Welsh slates

Pentwyn Farm A farm track and access system had to be constructed prior to work commencing on this isolated Grade II listed derelict property. Work was carried out without mains services, in poor weather conditions & with difficult delivery access. The purpose made trusses were manufactured in oak & all joinery was produced by time served skilled craftsmen. The property now consists of three bedrooms, kitchen, larder, study, lounge, hallway and bathroom. Under flagstone heating was fitted and the external works included extensive dry stone walling, retaining walls and patios.

Projects Cont…… Restoration & Refurbishment Aberffrwdd House, Abergavenny This property was completely restored following a house fire. The vast majority of the stonework was re-built and re-pointed as required. The structure was completely re-roofed, attic trusses were incorporated to provide an additional bedroom & bathroom. The finished residence consisted of 4 bedrooms, en-suites, main bathroom, kitchen, lounge & dining room. The purpose made oak joinery was manufactured by our sister company Anthony A Davies Ltd

Winforton Courtyard, Hay - on - Wye This restoration of 5 derelict yet beautiful Grade II listed properties in a rural location was an inspiring piece of work. Each property was totally different from each other in age, design, materials & techniques used. Various roof coverings included stone tiles, clay tiles & Welsh slates. Marble floor tiles, numerous oak beams, oak joinery, stone fireplaces, hand made kitchens are a few features just to mention. External works included extensive use of pavier blocks for drive & pathways and communal grassed areas were laid.

Llanarth Court, Llanarth, Nr Abergavenny Refurbishment of two wards designed to accommodate high security level mental illness clients. Works carried out achieved……………….. of core standards. The structural layout of support services such as kitchens were altered and the wards were upgraded e.g. new ceilings, doors, bathrooms and decoration. The adjoining wards remained occupied during the project period, the site agent liaising closely with hospital staff in relation to security, policies & procedures.

Dorestone, Hereford An in house speculative design & build project by Anthony A Davies Construction Ltd. The first phase comprising of two terraces of three, two bed roomed properties, three detached 3 bed roomed properties and one four bed roomed house. Phase two consisted of converting two barns into three, two bed roomed properties, one three bed roomed house and one four bed roomed property. The development is situated in a conservation Village and the standard of build reflects the quality of the area. External works included Biodisc Sewerage Plant, landscaping and adapted road system.

Westington Court, Leominster A prestigious three storey Victorian Grade II Listed building. The project consisted of building a 2 storey extension with underground swimming pool, road system and landscaping. The extensive extension was built to match the existing property with the external bricks being hand made. The large underground swimming pool, associated undercroft and plant rooms are to a very unique specification using the best materials that are available at this present time. The ground floor has a influential bespoke moulded kitchen and unusual Douglas Fir timber ceiling. The glazed link and associated rooms have a very high specification of purpose made fixtures to maintain the character of the property. The first floor comprises of a link to the existing building, three bedrooms, ensuites and bathrooms. The decoration has been carried out under the guidance of a interior designer. The existing building was totally refurbished, rebuilding and repairing the oak structure, floors, ceilings but keeping the original appearance of this beautiful property. The external dry stone walls were built using the reclaimed stone that was excavated when forming the swimming pool. The landscaping was carried out under the guidance of a landscape designer. The combination of renovating a listed building, coupled with the construction of such a high specification, unusual extension was a unique experience for our skilled craftsmen.

Projects Cont…… Nursing Homes Ganerew Care Home, Monmouthshire A 22 ensuite bedroomed half stone built and half block & render extension to an existing private care home. Staff accommodation lounges, lanterned topped dining area were included in the new build. The stonework was sympathetically constructed to match the existing building. Various upgrading works were carried out on the existing building including kitchen, number of bedrooms and the installation of a vertical lift. Car parking, extension to existing driveway & landscaping were included in the external works.

Mountains Nursing Home, Libanus The new build extension to an existing nursing home involved the construction of 10 ensuite bedrooms and staff living accommodation. The existing dining and lounge areas were upgraded, new assisted bathing areas and vertical lift were installed. A tarmaccadam parking area & extension to drive were also installed.

Educational Properties Big Pit, Blaenavon Construction of Additional Teaching Facilities as an extension of a listed building located at a World Heritage Site. The structure was of steel partial structure with all finishes to match existing also incorporating an air handling unit.
