Please note that RM SecureNet Plus has been re-branded as SWGfL Data Transfer. However certain messages and screens on the system still refer to SecureNet Plus – this is beyond the control of Dorset Local Authority (LA). Follow the steps in this guide when you are ready to return files to the LA as part of the Summer 2007 data collection. We are assuming that you have already used SWGfL Data Transfer on the workstation (PC) you are now using to upload files to the LA. If not, then for the first time you use SWGfL Data Transfer on it, you will have to follow instructions in the document Download of New ActiveX Controls, available from the web page: http://www.dorsetforyou.com/index.jsp?articleid=3857 This web page also contains useful documents relating to SWGfL Data Transfer on subjects such as general use of SWGfL Data Transfer. You can also visit the Summer 2007 Data Collection web page: http://www.dorsetforyou.com/index.jsp?articleid=352162

1. Launch the SWGfL Data Transfer web site, web address: https://securenetplus.swgfl.org.uk/ 2. The SWGfL Data Transfer login screen appears:

You can log into any account that is subscribed to the KS2 & KS3 data from schools community – the default account is Office.

3. Log on to SWGfL Data Transfer using the Office account (unless you wish to use a different account). To do this, enter Office (or another account name) into the User Name: field; 835 followed by your four digit DfES number (with no spaces) into the DfES Number: field; and the password for your account into the Password: field. When the Office account was created for your school, the password was set to be the same as that for accessing DCC web based services such as the Schools Extranet, BMIS and the Schools Mail Archive, however in some cases the password for the Office account has been changed since then.

You will see the files available for download in the upper Available files: pane. If you get a warning that the system cannot locate the Outbox Folder, or if the files for upload are not visible, you will have to select the upload directory (step 7).

7. For the files to be visible, the directory that holds them must be selected as the upload directory. Click the Browse button and, in the box that appears, browse to and select the directory in which the files have been put for upload, and click Select.

You can create a new directory below the selected one by clicking the New button.

Note: you only see directory names in this window, not file names.
