Chair´s announcements

The Coordinators heard the Chair:  providing an update on the state of the student e-card initiative, and the cooperation of DG EAC and DG CONNECT in this matter;  reporting back from the CULT mission to Tunisia in September 2016;  raising the issue of the EP initiative aiming for a free Interrail pass for all young Europeans turning 18;  explaining that a formal request of the LIBE Committee for association under Rule 54 for the AVMS Directive had been made too late, thus making such association impossible under the current EP rules in force;  informing about the fact that on the agenda of the next Strasbourg session (24-27 October 2016), the CULT oral question on volunteering had been postponed to a Thursday afternoon, and that a written complaint has been sent to President Schulz concerning this issue. The Coordinators endorsed the Chair´s approach to ask for re-scheduling the oral question to Thursday morning or for postponing it to the November session.
