SUDDEN RAIN ALTERNATIVE (If Fr. Lavelle decides to end the ceremonies because of sudden severe rain, he will immediately step up to a microphone and say:) Fr. Lavelle: Because of the present severe weather conditions, these commencement exercises will be concluded in forma brevi. (If only the Graduate School candidate scroll needs to be presented, Dr. Wertheim immediately presents the candidates and Fr. Lavelle confers the degrees using the usual formula- page 5.) (If two or three scrolls remain, Fr. Schlegel takes them from the other deans and says:) Fr. Schlegel: Reverend President, on behalf of the faculty of the University, I certify that the candidates whose names are hereby submitted have satisfied all the requirements for their appropriate degrees and respectfully recommend that these degrees be conferred upon them.
