UMIX an intuitive system for operators The UMIX operator interface is Windows-based, giving the operator(s) the benefits of a familiar and easy-to-use graphical interface, but this is not a critical part of the system, and plays no part in the recording process, which is controlled but not dependant. Designed with the operator in mind the UMIX Command Centre can be configured to utilise either two or three screen monitor layouts. Camera selections can be made in multiple ways; either by selecting from a drop down list, by entering the camera number via a keyboard, or by selecting from a map/floor layout. The three display screen version hangs on the network and provides for camera lists, free user defined grouping of cameras, site maps, alarm logging - management and control on the first screen. The second screen has four simultaneous playback channels with independent control and four time bars for easy searching. This screen can also show live cameras if required. The third screen shows 1, 4, 9 or 16 way cameras live, and can run camera patrols and tours either manually or automatically.

The 3 screen command centre provides complete and seamless management for Camera lists Camera groups Integrated and linked site maps (with active camera icons) Alarm logs and management Multiple playback channels Live viewing (configurable as 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4) Integrated PTZ control via mouse or joystick Preset camera patterns Camera tours Any number of 2 or 3 screen UMIX Command Centres can be accommodated, along with a single screen lite version for managerial or ancillary system uses.

UMIX system features A unique feature of UMIX is the ability to prompt operators as they select cameras, with a summary of information drawn in real-time from the database - related to the area around the camera. For example, if an operator selects a camera, information on the area around that specific camera’s field of vision is automatically provided. This can include; vulnerable buildings, incident statistics, last known incident and people who have ASBO’s or banning orders. In line with accountability, the system can trigger an incident report via an operator action. This is usually activated by the operator selecting an incident button either; on-screen, via a keyboard button or via a joystick button. When the incident button is triggered, the system starts to record the operator’s actions; the system automatically starts an incident report and completes which cameras have been used, the location on the camera and sub categorises this into zone/scheme/area/street and time of incident.

3 screen operator command centre Another unique function is the ability to allow two operators to work on the same incident, at the same time. A second operator simply has to click the ‘Join Incident’ button on their screen to prompt the system to start recording their camera movements. As soon as the incident button is triggered the footage is automatically recorded and tagged. This footage is then attached to the incident form and can be replayed at a touch of a button. UMIX can decode multiple video channels from many sources, and display these on video walls or spot monitors. They also allow instant playback access to archived video, and this can be replayed alongside live video feeds.

UMIX applications Powerful surveillance capabilities with flexible ‘add on’ applications Supreme flexibility and modular design ensures UMIX delivers significant benefits for those responsible for security operations providing a choice of software applications to meet specific needs, increasing situational awareness and making Command and Control operations more connected and you more prepared to deal with any incident or emergency to the highest level.

U-Dispatch Dispatch Log This is a professional dispatch control application module and allows you to display the “last known position” of mobile resources in real time on a map. Any GPS device can be integrated into the system. A typical scenario would be: an Operator starts to record an incident or receives an alarm activation, they can instantly look to a map that will show the last known position of your mobile device, which are displayed as different icons for people and vehicles. The operator can then double click on the most appropriate icon this will then show that devices record. If it is a mobile device for a van it will show the van details and contact number, if it is for a person it will show their picture and contact details. The operator then has the option to communicate direct, via a head set or radio, dialled automatically from the system. Once communication is made and decisions have been finalised the operator can confirm all instructions in a text message. The operator can now drag and drop the icon onto the incident location, this will log that a mobile device has been sent to the incident and recorded on the incident form. All displays and preferences are user definable so map scaling, layout and communication methods are already setup for when the operator logs onto their shift. The types of devices already integrated are: TOMTOM work, Teltonika, Geo SKeeper and Identicom. The mapping system can integrate into: MapInfo, Ordnance Survey, Google Earth or utilise jpeg or bitmaps.

U-Tour Guard Tour

U-Worksafe Lone Worker Module

An application providing Managers ‘Guard Tour’ tracking and reporting. Previously, managers only knew of a missed checkpoint after the event, sometimes even days or weeks until an exceptions report could be produced.

Check calls

U-Tour offers instant, almost live updates, which can be fed seamlessly into UMIX front-end GUI. Using the latest advances in mobile technology we utilise RFiD to provide a cost effective and reliable guard tour system. Managers can design an officer’s tour via our desktop application and then either download or send via 3G to a PDA. The software programs knows which tags need to be selected and at what intervals. The system tracks the progress of the tour and generates alarms to the operators when a tag has not been selected. The system can then automatically generate reports to the end users some of which include exceptions, frequency of tour and times of tour. The RFiD tags can be either passive or active meaning that you can program a tag to provide the officer with a task or provide them with information about the locale of the tag. You can even use a mixture of tags allowing you greater freedom over you guard tour. RFiD has many benefits including the low cost and low maintenance. We have chosen a ruggedized PDA as it incorporates a number of useful technologies into one device thus minimising the amount of kit the officer is expected to carry on their kit belt – it has GPS, 3G, RFiD – it is a mobile phone and powerful enough to run the application software. Other technologies will be used in the right environment.

The check call handling system allows the field based worker to set up a schedule of check calls using either, desktop client, a web page or via an interactive phone menu. On arriving at the destination being visited – but before entering the premises – the lone worker can call into the system and make an “amber check call”, leaving a message on the system that he/she has arrived at the premises they intended to travel to. If a check call is missed the system will alarm into the main operator GUI. Note that an operator does not get involved in the check calls being made unless a check call is missed.

Panic Alarms If the lone worker activates a panic alarm (usually via a GSM enabled device), the alarm is presented to the operator via the GUI. We have integrated our solution with a number of different devices including GeoSkeeper, MAMBO, Teltonika & Identicom. Once the alarm is received from the panic alarm device or via a missed check call – the operator is presented on screen with the record for the lone worker which contains the instructions left by the lone worker for that visit. The operator can check the last known position of the lone worker via the GPS tracking device being used by that worker. He/she can also refer to the orange check call recording left by the worker on his/her arrival at their destination.
